If your NinjaTrader hotkeys are not working, the most common cause is that hotkeys are not enabled in the platform settings. This can be easily resolved from the NinjaTrader options menu.
Follow the steps below to enable hotkeys.
Step 1 — Open the Options Menu
Open NinjaTrader.
In the Control Center, click Tools.
Select Options from the dropdown menu.
Step 2 — Navigate to Trading Settings
In the Options window, select the Trading tab on the left side.
Locate the Hotkeys section.
Step 3 — Enable Hotkeys
Check the box labeled Enable order entry hotkeys.
Click Apply.
Click OK to save your settings.
Once this option is enabled, your configured hotkeys will become active.
Important Notes
Hotkeys will only function when the active window supports order entry, such as Chart Trader, SuperDOM, or other trading panels.
Ensure that NinjaTrader is the active window when using hotkeys.
If you are connected to your VPS through Remote Desktop, keyboard shortcuts will still work as long as they are not overridden by Windows system shortcuts.
Still Not Working?
If hotkeys still do not respond:
Restart NinjaTrader after enabling the setting.
Verify that the hotkeys are properly configured under Tools → Hot Keys.
Make sure your VPS keyboard layout matches your local keyboard layout.
