There are two main methods to verify a company's VAT registration status in the UAE

Method 1: Check Your Own Company's VAT Registration

If you need to check your own company's VAT registration:

  1. Visit the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) website: eservices.tax.gov.ae

  2. Log in to your personal account using your username and password

  3. Navigate to the "Taxable Person List" section

  4. Select the company of interest and click "View"

  5. Go to the "Certificates" section

  6. In the "Action" section, download the VAT registration certificate in PDF format

The certificate contains important information including:

  • The date of your company's registration as a VAT payer

  • The first accounting period from registration

  • Deadlines for submitting VAT returns

  • Start and end dates of tax periods

Method 2: Verify Any Company's VAT Registration

To check if another company is registered for VAT:

  1. Visit the official FTA website: tax.gov.ae

  2. Navigate to the "Services" section

  3. Click on "TRN Verification" tool

  4. Enter the 15-digit Tax Registration Number (TRN) of the company

  5. Complete the CAPTCHA verification

  6. Click "Verify" or "Submit"

If the TRN is valid, the system will display the registered business name and its VAT registration status. If invalid, you'll receive an error message indicating the TRN doesn't exist in the system.

This verification process is instant and takes only a few seconds after entering the TRN correctly.
