When you add your own phone number as a caller ID in Raise More, we confirm that you control that number before you can use it in the dialer. Here is how that works: we place an automated voice call to the number you entered, and Raise More shows a short verification code on your screen. When you answer the call, an automated voice asks you to enter that code on your phone's keypad. Once the code matches, your number is verified and becomes selectable in the dialer.
The code is never sent by text. It is shown on screen, and you enter it during the call. So when verification fails, the usual problem is that the verification call did not reach you, or you did not get a chance to enter the code while the call was live.
Why the verification call might not reach you
A few common reasons the call doesn't come through:
The number was typed incorrectly. A single wrong digit sends the call to a different phone or to nowhere.
The call went to voicemail. You have to answer the call live to enter the code. If it rolls to voicemail, verification cannot complete, and no code is left in the voicemail.
The number can't receive voice calls. Some numbers are texting-only, disconnected, or no longer in service.
It's a VoIP or virtual number. Google Voice, some softphones, and certain business lines don't always handle automated verification calls reliably.
The carrier filtered the call. Carrier-level spam filtering can drop an automated call before it rings.
There's a short delay. The call usually arrives within seconds, but during busy periods it can take a minute or two.
Steps to fix it
Work through these in order. Most verification problems are solved in the first two steps.
Double-check the number. Reopen the add-caller-ID screen and confirm every digit, including the area code. Re-typing the number is the fastest fix for the most common cause.
Be ready to answer live. Have the phone in hand before you start. When the verification call rings, answer it yourself, listen to the automated prompt, and enter the code shown in Raise More on your keypad. Don't let it go to voicemail.
Wait a couple of minutes, then start over. If no call arrives, wait two or three minutes. If it still hasn't rung, start verification again so a fresh call and a fresh code are generated.
Try a different number. If the number is a Google Voice line, an extension, or another VoIP service, try a standard mobile or landline number instead. Those verify most reliably.
Check for carrier blocking. If you have several numbers on the same carrier and none of them ring, the carrier may be filtering automated calls. Trying a number on a different carrier can confirm this.
Make sure the number isn't already verified. If Raise More says it can't start verification (for example, an error asking whether you've already verified this number), the number may already be verified on your account. Check your existing caller IDs list before adding it again.
When to contact support
Reach out to the Raise More support team if:
You've confirmed the number is correct and can receive normal calls, but the verification call still never arrives after several attempts.
You suspect carrier-level blocking and can't verify any of your numbers.
You need to use a VoIP or virtual number that won't verify through the automated call.
When you contact us, include the exact phone number you're trying to verify, the carrier it's on (if you know it), and roughly how many times you've tried. With that, we can look into what happened to the verification call on our provider's side and help get your number cleared for use.
FAQ
Is the code sent by text or by phone call?
By phone call. We place an automated voice call to the number, and you enter the code that Raise More shows you on screen.
The call went to voicemail. Did it leave the code?
No. The code is shown to you in Raise More, not left in voicemail. You need to answer the call live and enter the code on your keypad, so start over and be ready to pick up.
Can I verify a Google Voice or VoIP number?
Sometimes, but these numbers don't always handle the automated verification call reliably. If yours won't verify, try a standard mobile or landline number, or contact support.
How long does the call take to arrive?
Usually within seconds, but it can occasionally take a minute or two. If nothing rings after a few minutes, restart the verification to get a fresh call.
I keep getting a code, but entering it doesn't work.
Enter the most recent code shown in Raise More. Each new verification attempt generates a new code, so an older one won't be accepted. Restart the process so the code on screen matches the active call.
