A Caller ID is the phone number that appears on a recipient’s phone when a call is made. In Raise More, setting up a caller ID means linking a number that will be shown to donors when outreach is made using the integrated dialer. This adds clarity and legitimacy to your communication, ensuring donors recognize who is contacting them and are more likely to respond.
Having multiple caller IDs gives teams the flexibility to manage outreach more efficiently. You can assign different numbers to different campaigns, team members, or demographics, making your communication more targeted and professional. It also improves deliverability and response rates, as donors are more likely to engage when they see a familiar or relevant number.
Types of Caller IDs: Real vs. Virtual Phone Numbers
Raise More supports two types of Caller IDs: real phone numbers and virtual phone numbers. A real phone number is an actual phone number owned by your organization. A virtual phone number, on the other hand, operates through internet-based telephony services and isn't generally tied to a specific phone or location.
Using a real phone number helps build trust with donors, especially when it’s a number they recognize or can call back. It also maintains consistency for organizations that want to use their established contact information across all communication channels. On the other hand, virtual phone numbers offer flexibility and scalability. They’re ideal for teams managing multiple campaigns or working remotely, since calls can be made from any device using the platform. They also help preserve privacy and reduce costs, making them a strong option for growing teams.
