When you finish calling through a list, you can restart it to make a fresh pass. Restarting creates a new saved list copied from the original. The new list keeps the same name with a pass number added, and it can leave out the people you already reached so you only call the ones who did not pick up.
What restart does
Restarting does not erase your call history and does not change the original list. It creates a new saved list with the same people, the same filters, and the same kind (static or dynamic) as the list you restarted. The new list is named after the original with a pass number, for example "My Donor List Pass #2". You then start a dialer session on that new list and call through it.
If you restart a Pass #2 list later, the next copy becomes "Pass #3", and so on. The new list points back to the original, so you can always find where it came from.
Where to find the Restart List button
You can restart a list from two places.
From the list's own page:
Open the list under Saved Lists.
At the top of the page, click Restart List.
From the saved lists table:
Go to Saved Lists.
Find the list in the table and open its actions menu (the vertical three-dot menu on the row).
Click Restart List.
Restarting the list
After you click Restart List, a window titled Restart List opens. It shows:
List Name: the name of the new list, filled in for you as the original name plus the next pass number, for example "My Donor List Pass #2". This name is set for you and is not editable in this window.
Quick Filters: a single checkbox labeled "Exclude if marked answered, wrong number, refuse, deceased, or do not call during the last pass of this list." This box is checked by default.
What the checkbox does:
Checked (the default): People who got a final outcome on the last pass are left off the new list. Anyone whose last-pass call was logged as Answered, Wrong / Disconnected, Refused, Deceased, or Do Not Contact is excluded. People you did not reach stay on the new list, including those logged as No Answer, Left Voicemail, or Call Back.
Unchecked: Everyone from the original list is copied to the new list, no matter how their last call was logged.
When you are ready, click Restart.
After you restart
Once the new list is created, a message appears that reads "List successfully restarted with N contacts." and includes a View new list link. Click it to open the new pass.
On the new list's page you will see a Restarted List label and an "Original list" link back to the list it was copied from.
Start calling the new pass
From the new list's page, click the call button at the top of the page to begin a dialer session:
It reads Make Calls when you are starting fresh.
It reads Resume List if you already have a saved position partway through that list.
If the list is already being used in a dialer session, the button changes to reflect that. It reads Return to Your Call Session when you are already dialing that list, and Switch dialer to this list when you are in a session on a different list. If another user on your account is dialing that list, it reads Join Call Session.
When you cannot restart
The Restart List button is disabled, with a tooltip that reads "Cannot restart because there is a newer pass of this list," when a newer pass of the list already exists. In that case, restart from the most recent pass instead of an older one. You also cannot restart a list that belongs to a parent organization. For a parent-organization list, the call button reads Duplicate This List, which makes your own copy first.
Tips
Restarting always makes a new list. The original list and its call history are left untouched, so you can compare passes.
Leave the exclude checkbox on if you only want to chase the people you missed. Turn it off if you want to call the entire list again from the top.
A list name has to be unique. If a list with the new pass name already exists, the restart is blocked with a message that a list with that name already exists.
