How do I send a follow-up email to people who didn't open?

Raise More has a built-in "Resend to non-openers" action. It makes a copy of an email campaign you already sent and sets the new copy to target only the people who did not open the original. You then review and send the copy like any other campaign.

What "Resend to non-openers" does

When you use it, Raise More:

  • Creates a new draft campaign that copies the original's subject, sender name, sender email, reply-to, and email content.

  • Names the new draft <original name> (resend). If you have resent the same campaign before, it adds a number, like (resend) 2, (resend) 3.

  • Sets the new draft's audience to everyone who received the original but did not open it.

The new campaign is created as a draft. Nothing is sent until you schedule or send it yourself.

Before you start

You can only resend to non-openers from a campaign that has already finished sending (or was paused, cancelled, failed, or archived). You cannot run this on a draft or a campaign that is still scheduled or actively sending.

Opens are tracked by Resend when a recipient's email client loads the tracking pixel embedded in the message. Some email clients block tracking pixels or load them automatically without a real read, so the "did not open" audience is an estimate. People who never loaded the pixel are included in the follow-up; people whose client loaded it at least once are excluded.

Option 1: From the campaign page

  1. Open Email from the left navigation.

  2. Click the campaign you already sent to open it.

  3. At the top of the page, click Resend to non-openers.

  4. When asked "Create a new draft targeting non-openers? This will duplicate the campaign," confirm.

Raise More creates the new draft and takes you to it.

Option 2: From the campaign list

  1. Open Email from the left navigation.

  2. Find the campaign you already sent in the list.

  3. Click the actions icon on that row and choose Resend to non-openers.

This action only appears for campaigns that have already sent. Raise More creates the new draft and takes you to it.

Review and send the follow-up

The new draft opens with the original content copied in. From here, you finish it the same way you would any campaign:

  1. Review the subject line, sender, and email content. Edit the message so it reads as a follow-up if you want.

  2. Use Preview to check how it looks.

  3. Schedule or send the campaign.

The audience is already set to non-openers of the original, so you do not need to build a new list. If you change the content, the recipients stay the same unless you change the audience yourself.

Notes

  • Each resend is its own campaign. You can resend to non-openers again later from the original campaign, and Raise More will number the copies for you.

  • Because open tracking uses a pixel, the non-openers list reflects opens recorded at the time you process the resend, not at the time you create the draft. Send the follow-up reasonably soon after the original for the most accurate results.
