How do I save an email as a draft?

Email campaigns are not saved automatically. You save them manually by clicking a "Save Draft" button. The campaign is stored with a status of Draft and remains editable until you send or schedule it.

Where to find the Save Draft button

When you open or create a campaign under Email > New Campaign, the editor shows a series of accordion steps: Campaign Name, Target Audience, From, Subject, Preview Text, A/B Testing, Send Time, Content, and Review and Send.

Inside each expandable step, a "Save Draft & Next" button appears at the bottom right of the open section. Clicking it saves all current form fields and moves the accordion to the next step. Some steps (Campaign Name and Send Time) show "Save Draft" instead, without advancing.

The Target Audience and Content steps open in a full-screen modal. The modal footer has a "Save Draft" button that saves and closes the modal.

What the button requires

The campaign name field must be filled in before any save will succeed. If the name is empty, you will see an error and the save will not proceed.

Where drafts appear

After saving, the page URL updates to /emailCampaigns/<id>. The campaign appears in the list at Email > All Campaigns with a status of Draft. Campaigns in Draft status remain fully editable. Once a campaign moves to Scheduled, Sending, Sent, or another non-Draft status, the editor switches to a read-only view.

Returning to a draft later

Go to Email > All Campaigns. Find the campaign in the list and click its name. If the campaign is still in Draft status, the accordion editor opens and you can continue editing and saving.
