Accessing the Web Portal

People with Roles with the View Visits Permission enabled can log into the Web Portal at your custom Receptful URL sent by our team. What you can see and manage in the Web Portal is dependent on the Permissions associated with your Role.

Password Authentication

If you want People to log in with their email and a chosen password, turn on Password Authentication in your Security Settings in the Web Portal. You can also configure password length, upper case letter, number, and special characters requirements.

When Password Authentication is enabled, you can log in with your email and chosen password at your custom Receptful URL:

If you forget your password, click “Forget Password?” to have a password reset email sent to your email address.

Passwordless Authentication

If you want People to log in with a Magic Link sent to their email address, turn on Passwordless Authentication in your Security Settings. You can add Domain restrictions if you would only like People with your domain to be able to log in.

When Passwordless Authentication is enabled, you can go to your custom Receptful URL and click Send Magic Link to receive the Magic Link at your email address.

This link expires after 30 minutes.

No password is needed when only Passwordless Authentication is enabled.

Accessing the App on iPad

To access the Receptful app on your iPad, first download the Receptful app from the App Store. Next, open the app, and you’ll be brought to the Enter Code screen:

To retrieve your code, go to your Device settings in the Web Portal in a web browser. Click Add Device. A pop-up will appear with a QR Code and alpha-numeric code:

Scan the QR code or enter the alpha-numeric code on the iPad. Then, choose your configuration and location:

After making your selection, the app will automatically sync to show the selected setup.

Closing the App

For the most part, you'll want your iPad to remain logged into the Receptful app. Sometimes, though, you may need to close the app, such as to update the device's operating system or check your network connection.

Closing The App if You Can Access The iPad's Home Button

Most iPads are equipped with a home button, which is the circular button on the short side of the iPad surrounding the touchscreen. Many iPad stands cover the iPad's home and power buttons, and some iPads don't have home buttons. But if your iPad has this button and is out of its case, or inside a case that exposes the home button, the easiest way to close The Receptful app is simply pressing that button. Pressing the home button should close any open apps and bring you back to the iPad's home page.

If you click the home button and nothing happens, check that you haven't enabled Guided Access.

Closing The App if You Can't Access The iPad's Home Button

There are a few ways to close The Receptful app and navigate across your iPad, even if your iPad doesn't have a home button or the home button is blocked by your case.

The simplest method is the five-finger pinch. Spread your fingers out as much as possible and press them to the touchscreen. Then, pinch your fingers together at the center of the screen. You will then see a screen that lists all open applications; click anywhere outside those applications to view the iPad's home screen.

Alternatively, you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Touch one finger lightly to the very bottom of the touchscreen and swipe that finger quickly upwards. This will bring you to the home screen of the iPad.
