Magic Search
The Magic Search feature allows you to quickly search your members from a single, easy-to-use text box. You can enter a variety of member fields into the text box and Magic Search will infer which fields you mean to target based on the format of your search terms. The fields targeted will be displayed above the results so that you know exactly how your search terms are being interpreted.
In the example below, Magic Search knows that "john" and "smith" are both parts of a member name (either first name or last name) and that "1975" might be a partial phone number, a year of birth, an MID, or a UID. This search returns all members who match to both the specified name – in either of the first name / last name options – and at least one of the possible numerical fields.
Included fields Any of the following member fields can be entered into Magic Search:
Name: All or part of the first name, last name, or both.
Year of Birth: 4-digit year of birth (YYYY).
Date of Birth: Full date of birth (various formats supported).
Barcode: Full barcode.
MID: Full Member ID.
UID: Full Unit ID.
Telephone: Full telephone number, last 7 digits, or last 4 digits.
Email: All or part of the email address.
User-specified fields There are several additional member fields which are not included in Magic Search by default, but which you can still target by specifying them directly:
Organization: All or part of the organization name (e.g. RECLIQUE).
Address: All or part of the first line of the address (e.g. 123 Main St.).
Nickname: All or part of the nickname.
Emergency: All or part of the emergency contact name.
Corporate: All or part of the corporate identifier.
Discount: All or part of the name of any associated discounts.
UID: Exact match of the Unit ID.
MID: Exact match of the Member ID.
Barcode: Exact match of the Barcode.
OldID: If different, the ID of the unit on the previous system before Core.
Recent: Member recently added on the last N days. Example:
recent:1
for recently added members today.
Telephone: Full telephone number, last 7 digits, or last 4 digits.
To target a user-specified field, include the field name followed by a colon (:) before entering the search term (e.g. nickname: jack). In the example below, Magic Search looks for anyone with a first or last name containing "john" whose address contains "main st" and who has a discount with a name containing "downtown neighbors".
