Separating and/or moving members

Sometimes you run into situations where a member needs to leave its old unit and be 'Separated' into a new one. The most common scenarios for this are kids getting older and needing their own unit or divorce situations where the spouses now need a separate unit. You can also use this process to move members from one unit to another.

The following steps are only available for users with the correct permission level

  1. Member Actions > Separate / Move

  2. If you are trying to move the only enabled person on a unit the system will prompt you to terminate the unit first.

  3. If you are trying to separate a member into his/her own unit leave the New Unit ID field blank. Otherwise, enter the Unit ID of the unit you want to move this member also.

  4. Verify, Understand, Save.

NOTE: Moving/Separating members does not move paid invoices and any unpaid program registrations will be unscheduled as payment methods are not transferred. Please make sure you are using this feature in the correct situations.
