YouTube Content ID is a fingerprinting system that identifies whenever your music is used anywhere on YouTube. To qualify for Content ID, your content must meet the following criteria:

  • It must be 100% original music, with all sounds either recorded by you or licensed exclusively to you (meaning no one else can use those sounds in their tracks).

  • It must not contain beats, loops, or sound effects downloaded from sample libraries, including free sounds that come with Logic, Pro Tools, GarageBand, etc.

  • It must not include samples from other songs, movies, TV shows, podcasts, video games, YouTube videos, or any other media.

  • It must not use public domain recordings, cover songs, remixes, or mashups.

  • It must not include any AI-generated content.

  • The track should not exceed 10 minutes in length.
