This is called an โ€œArtist mapping issueโ€ and can occur on some platforms when two bands/artists have a similar name - even though the information we deliver is 100% correct. But hey, good news, this is easily solved! ๐Ÿ‘

Apple Music, SoundCloud, Pandora, Anghami, Qobuz, NetEase

If you find that someone else's release is on your page, please get in touch with us with the following:

  • The link for your artist page

  • The link of the release that's mistakenly placed on your page

We'll do the rest for you!

Spotify

If you have access to Spotify for Artists, all you have to do is log in and request the relocation of this release directly. You can then do so via: https://artists.spotify.com/c/content-mismatch

TIDAL

Once you have access to your artist page on TIDAL, just click the "Report" button on the "Report Inaccurate Content" section. This allows you to directly communicate with TIDAL's content team regarding any discrepancies, such as mapping issues. Furthermore, Artist Home will proactively inform you if any of your requests, such as changes to credits or updates to song and album titles, require assistance from your distributor.

Deezer

Log into your Deezer for Creators, and then submit a request by filling out this form.

Amazon Music

If you discover music on your artist profile that belongs to another band or artist with the same name, you can help us rectify the mistake through your Amazon Music for Artists account by following these steps:

  • Once you're logged in, simply click "Help" under "User Settings".

  • Click "Report Issue" and choose โ€œMy artist profile has incorrect contentโ€

  • Click submit once you've filled out the form

Amazon's catalogue specialists will review and address the issue promptly. Please allow up to four weeks for the changes to be visible on Amazon Music.

Beatport

Beatport works more with label pages than artist pages, and they typically place releases of artists with the same artist name onto one page. However, if there are discrepancies with your artist name on Beatport, such as issues with letter casing, please reach out to us so we can request a correction on your behalf.

How can I check if my music through Record Union go to my existing artist pages?

Artist mapping issues occur automatically in the stores, and unfortunately, we cannot take specific actions to prevent them before delivering a release. This is because there is no way to determine which artist page the release will map to until the stores have processed it.

However, there is a proactive step we can take right after you upload your release. Hereโ€™s what you can do:

  • After uploading your release, reach out to us with the UPC of your release and the link/s to your existing artist page/s.

  • As soon as the release reaches the music service's system (prior to the release date), we can check if it is mapped to the correct artist page.

  • If the release is not mapped correctly, we will contact the music service/s to move it to the right page before the release date.

Until music services implement a fully functioning technical solution, we need to collaborate closely between the upload and release date to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Please note: Some music services don't accept artist mapping requests. We'll keep you posted here for any updates!
