If you don’t have a Record Union account yet, the first thing you need to do is sign up for one (you will receive a link in the invitation email to our signup page). It’s a super simple and straightforward process, just make sure you sign up with the same email address you received your split invitation to.

Once you have access to your account, you’ll find your royalty split invitation on your Dashboard and the ‘Invited to’ tab as well as the ‘Royalty splits’ page.

You have 30 days to take action on an invite, starting the day it was sent, and you can either accept or decline an invite.

By accepting, you agree to the invitation as is, as in the track/release you’ve been invited to as well as the royalty share. If something isn’t what you expected it to be, please contact the person who sent you the invite (should be the release manager). Once everything has been sorted, ask them to send you a new invitation.

If you have received an invitation by mistake or don’t want the offered share, you can decline the invite. Keep in mind that this is a non-reversible action, and the only way to get a royalty share is to have an invite sent to you again.

I can’t seem to accept/decline an invitation, what’s wrong?

To accurately report royalties, we temporarily disable managing splits when we do the royalty reporting at the end of the month. This is just temporary, so if you try again in a few hours, it should work again.
