This article is about streaming from your phone. Using the Reeplayer Camera? See Choosing the right tripod.
A steady, high spot makes all the difference when you stream from your phone. Already have a tripod? Grab a phone mount and you're set. We're building our own Reeplayer stand and mount. Until it's ready, these are the ones we recommend.
For the best view, your phone should be sideways (landscape), up high, and tilted slightly down. On courts, a light stand or tall tripod that reaches about 8 to 13 feet (2.5 to 4 m) works best.
Already have a Reeplayer Camera tripod? You can use it for your phone too. Just add a phone mount.
Phone mounts we like
Already have a tripod? You just need a phone mount. Most tripods and stands use a standard 1/4" screw, so these mounts fit right on.
Light stands don't have a tilting head, so pick a mount that tilts.
Ulanzi ST-10: about $20. Metal, tilts up and down. Best for phones without a bulky case.
NEEWER GA010: about $17. Metal, tilts and rotates. Light and small.
K&F Concept KF31.094: about $22. Metal, tilts, and fits big phones, even with a thick case.
Stands we like
K&F Concept TL14: 9.2 ft, about $57. Sturdy, lowers gently, and comes with a sandbag.
NEEWER Pro ST-260HQ: 8.6 ft, about $59. A heavy-duty classic that's easy to carry.
NEEWER ST-400AC: 13 ft, about $87. Extra height for big gyms and outdoor courts.
Prices are approximate and may change.
How to set up your stand
Spread the stand legs all the way out, on flat ground.
Screw the mount onto the 1/4" screw at the top. (If you see the bigger screw instead, flip the reversible stud so the 1/4" side faces up.)
Put your phone in sideways (landscape) and lock it.
Raise the sections from the bottom up, thickest first.
For where to put it, see How do I set up my phone at the game?
Windy? Hang a sandbag or backpack from the stand.
