In this article we'll go over a few common mistakes and how to fix them so your account stays clean and organized.

Cleaning up Lists & Tags

Did you accidentally create a ton of duplicate or messy lists and tags? Let's clean that up!

We recommend keeping lists high-level. Organize either by qualifying data (e.g. high equity, free & clear, expired listings) or by pain point/vexation (e.g. tax delinquent, code violations, probate). This improves your insight into how motivated an owner is to sell.

If you combine lists, or create multiple lists for the same data point, then it creates false positives - the owner appears motivated because the property is stacking with multiple lists, but the lists should actually be combined to one.

To clean up lists (and tags) view the lists and tags page from the left side bar of your account and identify which ones need to be edited, deleted, or combined.

Combining Lists (or Tags)

  1. Go to the Lists page from the left-hand menu.

  2. Identify the duplicate lists you want to merge.

  3. Choose which list you want to keep, and which to delete.

  4. Filter by the list you’re removing or click Show Properties.

  5. On the Records page, select the ALL tab → click Select All → then go to Manage → Add to Lists.

  6. Add those records to the list you’re keeping.

  7. After the action completes (track it under Activity → Action), filter by the list you’re removing again.

  8. Select all records and go to Manage → Remove from Lists.

  9. Now go back to the Lists page, click the 3 dots next to the list, and choose Delete.

Deleting Lists (or Tags)

Once all properties have been remove from the list (or tag) you can delete it out of your account. For Lists, navigate back to the Lists page, hover over the 3 dots to the right of the list and select delete.

📝 Note: You must remove all properties from a list or tag before you can delete it.

Editing Lists (or Tags)

If you only need to edit the name of a list or tag, just select the 3 dots to the right of the list or tag, and select edit. Here you can change the name or move to a different list folder.

Incomplete Records

Most accounts have some incomplete data—and many investors ignore it. But those incomplete records could be your hidden deals.

If the owners first and last name, mailing address, or the full property address isn't readily available, chances are they've been contacted by fewer investors. By taking a little time to dig deeper, you could be the first to reach them and in turn, get a deal.

👉 See our guide on Clean vs. Incomplete Data for details on how to identify and fix these records.
