Family support is available if you're any of the following:
A student
A recent graduate who graduated within the last 2 years
Someone who has relocated to the UK within the last 2 years
Early in your career, within your first 2 years of working
When you apply, we'll ask you for something that shows which of these applies to you, such as proof of enrolment, your degree certificate or your visa.
Who can support me?
Family support comes from your family members. You can use one family member, or combine savings from several family members together.
If someone outside your family already supports you, for example they've been paying your rent or living costs, let us know. We can sometimes accept this where there's evidence of that support, such as past transfers on your bank statements.
What if none of these apply to me?
You can still apply using your own income and savings. See our articles on what you need if you're employed or self-employed.
