Managing and Using Gift Cards in RepeatMD
Gift cards in RepeatMD are an effective way to pay for services or share account credits with others. This article provides an overview of how gift cards work in the RepeatMD app, limitations to be aware of, and solutions for potential issues you might encounter.
Overview of Gift Cards
Gift cards in RepeatMD are digital and tied to the user account they are purchased from. These can only be used as RepeatCash for in-app purchases.
Key Limitations:
Non-transferrable: Gift cards purchased through the app are automatically assigned to the buyer’s account and cannot be un-assigned or transferred to another account.
No in-clinic integration: Physical or clinic-purchased gift cards cannot be added to the RepeatMD app for purchases. Digital gift cards must be bought directly within the app to be used in-app.
Properly Assigning and Gifting Gift Cards
To ensure that a gift card is correctly assigned to the intended recipient:
During the gift card purchase process, select “For Someone Else” instead of “For Myself” on the app. Selecting the "For Myself” option causes the gift card to be assigned to your account—even if recipient information was entered.
Confirm the buyer and intended recipient’s account details before purchase.
If the gifting process is followed correctly, the gift card will be credited to the recipient’s account.
Troubleshooting Common Gift Card Issues
If a gift card was mistakenly credited to your account instead of being gifted: You have the following options:
Keep the credits in your wallet: You can use the credits on services for yourself and purchase a new gift card for the intended recipient with your credit card.
Make a one-time payment: If you are physically present with the intended recipient during their purchase, you can use your app credits to pay for their service. Note: Confirm with the clinic’s front desk if this is acceptable within the clinic's policy.
