Overview
The Cancel Membership option in the RepeatMD Patient App may be unavailable, greyed out, or hidden in specific situations. The most common reason is an active minimum commitment period on the membership. This article explains what restricts self-service cancellation, how billing timing works when you do cancel, and when to contact your clinic or practice admin for help.
This article is for patients troubleshooting cancellation in the app and for practice teams who field “I can’t cancel” support requests.
Before You Start
Open the RepeatMD app and sign in to the account enrolled in the membership.
Go to Wallet, select the membership, and scroll to Manage Membership to find the Cancel Membership option.
Membership terms vary by practice. Commitment length, early-cancellation rules, and fees are set by your clinic when the membership was created.
Standard cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You keep benefits through that date and are not charged again after cancellation is confirmed.
If self-service cancel is blocked, your clinic or an admin may need to cancel on your behalf from the Admin Panel.
Why It Matters
Patients expect to manage memberships from the app. When the cancel button is unavailable, frustration spikes unless the reason is clear. Practice teams who understand commitment enforcement, greyed-out states, and already-scheduled cancellations can resolve most tickets without escalating to RepeatMD Support.
How It Works
Active commitment period
Many memberships include a minimum commitment (for example, 3, 4, or 6 months). While the commitment is active, RepeatMD disables self-service cancellation in the app to enforce the agreed terms.
The Cancel Membership option may not appear, or it may appear greyed out.
Your membership detail screen shows how much time remains in the commitment period.
After the commitment period ends, the button becomes active and you can cancel directly in the app.
If you need to cancel before the commitment ends, contact your clinic. Early termination may require admin approval and could involve fees depending on your membership terms.
Greyed-out Cancel Membership button
A greyed-out button usually means one of the following:
Active commitment — You have not yet fulfilled the minimum term. Wait until the commitment ends, or contact your clinic for early cancellation options.
Cancellation already scheduled — Your membership is set to end at the close of the current billing cycle. No further action is required, and you will not be billed beyond the scheduled end date. Check your membership detail screen to confirm the end date.
Billing and cancellation timing
When you cancel a membership, it typically remains active until the end of the current billing cycle:
If you cancel today, you keep membership benefits through the last day of the current cycle.
You are not billed for future cycles after cancellation is confirmed.
No prorated refunds are issued for the current cycle.
When the clinic must cancel for you
If you are inside a commitment period and your clinic approves early cancellation, an admin can cancel from the Admin Panel on your behalf. You will receive email confirmation when the cancellation is processed.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Check why Cancel Membership is unavailable
Open the RepeatMD app and tap Wallet.
Select your membership.
Tap Manage Membership.
Review the membership detail screen for:
Remaining commitment period time
A scheduled cancellation or end date
Whether Cancel Membership is missing, greyed out, or active
Cancel when the button is available
From Manage Membership, tap Cancel Membership.
Select a cancellation reason.
Confirm the cancellation.
Verify the scheduled end date on the membership detail screen.
For the full patient cancel flow, see Cancel a membership (Patient App).
If you still cannot cancel
Review your membership terms in the app or any enrollment agreement from your clinic.
Contact your clinic if you are inside a commitment period or need early cancellation approval.
Ask an admin to cancel on your behalf if the clinic approves early termination. See Cancel a membership for a patient (Admin Panel).
Contact RepeatMD Support only if the commitment period has ended, no cancellation is scheduled, and the button is still unavailable after updating the app.
Best Practices and Pro Tips
Check commitment time remaining first. Most “can’t cancel” cases are active commitments, not app bugs.
Look for a scheduled end date. If you already canceled, the button may stay greyed out because no further action is needed.
Contact the clinic for early exit. Commitment rules and fees are practice-specific; your clinic is the fastest path to approval.
Update the app. If the commitment has clearly ended and the button is still blocked, ensure you are on the latest app version before contacting support.
Practice teams: Use the Admin Panel to cancel when a patient is approved for early termination inside a commitment period.
Common Mistakes and FAQs
Q: Why is Cancel Membership greyed out?
A: Usually because your membership is still inside a minimum commitment period, or because cancellation is already scheduled for the end of your billing cycle. Check the membership detail screen for commitment time remaining or a scheduled end date.
Q: Can I cancel during a commitment period?
A: Not through self-service in the app while the commitment is active. Contact your clinic to request early cancellation. An admin may cancel on your behalf if approved.
Q: Will I be charged after I cancel?
A: No, not beyond the current billing cycle. Your membership stays active through the end of the cycle you already paid for, then ends.
Q: The commitment ended but I still cannot cancel. What should I do?
A: Force-close and reopen the app, confirm you are on the latest version, and check that no cancellation is already scheduled. If the button is still unavailable, contact support@repeatmd.com with your account email and membership name.
Q: Can my clinic cancel for me?
A: Yes. Practice admins can cancel from the Admin Panel when early termination is approved or when a patient cannot access the app.
Q: Does canceling immediately remove my benefits?
A: No for standard memberships. Benefits remain through the end of the current billing cycle unless your membership is a trial type with different rules set by your clinic.
