Creating an Automated Offer

💡 Pro tips:

Promo will apply to the first-month membership unless the promo is created for a specific treatment(s) and/or package(s) from your app.

If you archive a treatment or package that is currently included in an active promotion, it will be deleted from that promotion. If you re archive the treatment or package, you will have to manually add it back to the inclusions list of that offer.

Automated Offers are promotions intended for driving retention and loyalty. These offers will only show up to individuals who fall under the specific parameters you set.

💡Pro tip:

All promotions will create a card on your Discover screen in your app for patients.

Keep in mind:

  • You can only edit the card in your promotions tab.

  • You can only delete the card on the Discover tab in the App Builder.

  • If you delete the card, the promotion will still be active and visible in the 'Special Offers' carousel and visible to the eligible users until the promotion expires.

Complete the following steps and then choose one of the following links below to create your offer:

  1. Log into your Admin Dashboard

  2. Click on the ‘Special Offers’ tab on the left-side of your screen under MedCommerce Engine.

  3. Click the*green lightning bolt button or ‘Quick Actions’ menu on the upper right-hand side of your screen

  4. Select ‘Create new offer'


Birthday offer:

  1. Log into your Admin Dashboard

  2. Click on the ‘Automated Offers’ tab on the left-side of your screen under MedCommerce Engine.

  3. Click the*green lightning bolt button or ‘Quick Actions’ menu on the upper right-hand side of your screen

  4. Select ‘Create new offer'

Basic Information:

Choose whether you want the patient to redeem this promotion on your app or in person.

  • Choose In-app for the patient to easily redeem it when making a purchase on your Patient Rewards app.

  • Choose in-office if the promotion applies to something they can only purchase in your office such as skincare

Select offer type:

  • Click the circle next to 'Birthday’ as the offer type.

Available locations:

  • Check either ‘All locations’ or only check the select location(s) you'd like this offer to be created for

Birthday reward message:

  • Examples:

    • Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!

    • Happy Birthday!

Enter your Birthday offer headline:

  • Examples:

    • Enjoy a Complimentary Dermaplane

    • Treat yourself to 15% off this birthday!

Triggered SMS:

All Automated Offers will trigger an SMS message to the recipient. Messages are sent at noon in a medspa location’s timezone based on the user’s medspa location.

The Birthday offer message reads:

  • [Medspa Name]: Happy Birthday, ​[Client First Name]! We got you a little something, click here to unwrap your gift: [medspa URL]. Reply STOP to Opt-Out.

You cannot make edits to any SMS copy for Birthday offers at this time.

Imagery:

Add your image that will double as an image for the offers carousel on your Home screen and the Campaign card for your Discover screen.

Offer details: Select discount type:

Select the type of offer you’d like to create, and then the discount.

  • Percentage - a percentage off in-app purchases.

  • Amount Off - dollar amount off in-app purchases.

  • Free service - offering a free service from your Shop.

🛑 You cannot offer the first month of the membership for free.

Stripe needs the membership price to be at least $1 to capture a card on file for the future monthly payments.

Inclusions and exclusions:

  • Use 'Include' when you want a specific treatment to receive this discount

    • Enroll in a Membership Today and Unlock Your First Month for Just $1!

      • You will want to explicitly include your memberships so the discount only applies to the first month of your memberships and not any other services in your menu.

    • Save 25% on a Hydrafacial (or a specific service from your service menu)

      • You would only select to include Hydrafacial (or the specific treatment from your list) and it will automatically know to exclude every other treatment from that discount/ benefit

    • $2 off Tox and Filler

      • You would select to include the tox and filler from your list and it will automatically know to exclude all over treatments from that discount/benefit

  • Use 'Exclude' when you want to to exclude less than you want to include

    • 15% off all services except for Toxin

      • You would just use exclude to select all the toxin services to ensure they are not receiving this discount/ benefit.

    • 20% off all services except for 1st month of your memberships

      • You will want to explicitly exclude your memberships so that the rest of your service menu will receive the discount

🛑 Discounted memberships are not be applicable to enrolled members. It might not be best practice to include this as anything other than a Special Offer or sign-up/ referral reward at this time!

Create a unique or standard promo code.

You can choose to create a standard code like 'LOYAL15'.

However, if you are wanting a unique promo code, we recommend using ChatGPT to generate some for you like the following:

  • Example:

    • Q7zR9pL2xY!

    • J5aP8qX3sW

    • R9bT2mZ4gK!

    • H3cL6oN1vD

Remember, a user will see all available promos in their cart before check-out. So using a standard vs unique promo code is completely up to you!

Choose your valid offer dates.

  • How long do you want the user to be able to apply this discount to a purchase?

(Optional) Include offer description.

  • Add your description of the general offer in the full description section.

(Optional) Add in a disclaimer

💡Pro tip:

We do not recommend creating an offer that requires a minimum spend. This adds friction to the patient experience that may prevent them from engaging and converting on your app.

However, if you do add a disclaimer regarding a minimum spend you must use the include or exclude tool and make sure the correct services meet your requirement.

Click the ‘Create offer’ button to save and finalize your offer!

Loyalty offer

Basic Information:

Choose whether you want the patient to redeem this promotion on your app or in person.

  • Choose In-app for the patient to easily redeem it when making a purchase on your Patient Rewards app.

  • Choose in-office if the promotion applies to something they can only purchase in your office such as skincare

Select offer type:

  • Click the circle next to 'Loyalty’ as the offer type.

Available locations:

  • Check either ‘All locations’ or only check the select location(s) you'd like this offer to be created for

Loyalty reward message:

  • Examples:

    • Thank you for being VIP

    • You've officially reached VIP status

    • We want to say THANKS!

Enter your Loyalty offer headline:

  • Examples:

    • Enjoy a Complimentary Dermaplane

    • Treat yourself to 15% off your next purchase of a Facial

    • Enjoy 15% off, on us!

Triggered SMS:

All Automated Offers will send an SMS message to the recipient. Messages are sent at noon in a medspa location’s timezone based on the user’s medspa location.

A user receives an SMS message the day after they have met the loyalty criteria

  • [Medspa Name]: Hey ​[Client First Name], thank you for being a loyal customer! Here’s a gift to show our appreciation. Tap to view: [medspa URL]. Reply STOP to Opt-Out.

If an offer is not claimed, a user receives a follow-up message 2 days before the automated offer expires

  • [Medspa Name]: ​Hurry! Your complimentary gift from us expires in two days! Click here to claim: [medspa URL]. Reply STOP to Opt-Out.

Select offer type:

Available locations:

  • Check either ‘All locations’ or only check the select location(s) you'd like this offer to be created for

Retention reward message:

    • Come back to us!

Enter your Loyalty offer headline:

  • Examples:

    • Enjoy a Complimentary Dermaplane

    • Treat yourself to 15% off your next purchase of a Facial

Triggered SMS:

All Automated Offers will send an SMS message to the recipient. Messages are sent at noon in a medspa location’s timezone based on the user’s medspa location.

A user receives an SMS message on they day they receive the automated offer

  • [Medspa Name]: ​[Client First Name], you've just earned a new offer! Click to view: [medspa url]. Valid thru: [Expiration Date]. Reply STOP to Opt-Out.

If an automated offer is not claimed, a user receives a follow-up message 2 days before it expires
