Creating Special Offers

Special Offers: A promotion that is intended to be available to all of your Patient Reward app users.

💡 Pro tips:

If you archive a treatment or package that is currently included in an active promotion, it will be deleted from that promotion.

If you re-archive the treatment or package, you will have to manually add it back to the inclusions list of that offer.

Creating a Special Offer

  • Log into your Admin Dashboard

  • Click on the ‘Special Offers’ tab on the left-side of your screen under MedCommerce Engine.

  • Click the*green lightning bolt button or ‘Quick Actions’ menu on the upper right-hand side of your screen

  • Select ‘Create new offer'

Basic Information:

  • Choose whether you want the patient to redeem this promotion on your app or in person.

    • Choose in-app for the patient to easily redeem it when making a purchase on your Patient Rewards app.

    • Choose in-office if the promotion applies to something they can only purchase in your office such as skincare

Locations:

Select all or the specific location(s) you want this offer to be valid for

Enter your promotion offer message:

  • Examples:

    • Back to School Sale!

    • Save 15% on all Hydrafacials!

    • Enjoy 50% Off Your First Month!

    • Get Your First Month for Just $1!

Enter your promotion offer headline:

  • Examples:

    • Limited time only!

    • Save $50 on the first month of your membership purchase.

    • One week only!

How does this show up on your Patient Rewards app?

Add your image that will double as an image for the offers carousel on your Home screen and the Campaign card for your Discover screen.

Offer details: Select discount type:

  • Select the type of offer you’d like to create, and then the discount.

  • Percentage - a percentage off in-app purchases.

  • Amount Off - dollar amount off in-app purchases.

  • Free service - offering a free service from your Shop (does not apply to first month membership costs).

Inclusions and exclusions:

  • Use 'Include' when you want a specific service or first month membership to receive this discount

    • 25% towards any purchase of a HydraFacial

      • You would only select the HydraFacial treatments from your list and it will automatically know to exclude every other treatment from that discount/ benefit

    • Get Your First Month for Just $1!

      • You would use dollar amount or percentage to make the membership cost $1

      • In the cart, it will show that the membership will renew at the full monthly rate the following month

🛑 You cannot offer the first month of the membership for free.

Stripe needs the membership price to be at least $1 to capture a card on file for the future monthly payments.

  • Use 'Exclude' when you want to to exclude less than you want to include

    • 15% off all services except for Toxin

      • You would just use exclude to select all the toxin services to ensure they are not receiving this discount/ benefit whereas the rest of your services will receive that discount

Create a unique or standard promo code.

If you are wanting a unique promo code we recommend using ChatGPT to generate some for you like the following:

  • H3cL6oN1vD

Choose your valid offer dates.

  • When would you like your Special Offer to expire?

    • Your code will work at 12AM on the start date and then expire at 11:59 on the end date.

Add your description of the general offer in the full description section.

(Optional) Add in a disclaimer

💡Pro tip:

We do not recommend creating an offer that requires a minimum spend. This adds friction to the patient experience that may prevent them from engaging and converting on your app.

However, if you do add a disclaimer regarding a minimum spend you must use the include or exclude tool and make sure the correct services meet your requirement.

Click the green button 'Create Special offer’ in the bottom right to save and finalize your offer!

Promote with an SMS:

If you wish to send out an SMS to promote your Special Offer, you will click '+ Send an SMS message' before finalizing the creation of your special offer. This is the same flow as if you were sending or scheduling an SMS Blast from the Medcommerce Engine.

Once you have scheduled your SMS, you'll be redirected back to your Special Offer and click 'Create Special Offer' to finalize the offer.

💡Pro tip:

All promotions will create a card on your Discover screen in your app for patients.

Keep in mind:

  • You can only edit the card in your promotions tab.

  • You can only delete the card on the Discover tab in the App Builder.

  • If you delete the card, the promotion will still be active and visible in the 'Special Offers' carousel until the promotion expires.
