Overview
A sitewide promotion without a special offer highlights a custom shop category across your patient app using pop-ups, banners, and hero imagery. No discount or promo code is applied. Use this path when you want patients to discover a curated set of services, not run a sale.
This article is for practice owners, managers, and marketing admins. For discount-based promotions, see Create a sitewide promotion with a special offer (Admin Panel).
Before You Start
Create your custom shop category first. See Create and schedule custom shop categories (Admin Panel).
You need Administrator, Manager, or Marketing access.
Only one sitewide promotion can be active at a time. You can schedule additional promotions for future dates.
Promotion pop-up and banner toggles are on by default. Turn them off in the asset step if you do not want those surfaces.
Recommended pop-up image size: 1122 x 1722 px, max 2 MB.
Why It Matters
Awareness-only sitewide promotions help you:
Spotlight staff picks, new devices, or underbooked services without discounting your menu.
Make curated categories easier to find by surfacing them on Home, Browse, and the top banner.
Test messaging and creative before committing to a percentage-off sale.
Group related services (for example, tox and filler) so patients browse them in one place.
How It Works
No discount attached: When you select No, I’m just promoting services, RepeatMD does not create a special offer or promo code. Patients see your category and creative assets only.
Where patients see it - An active sitewide promotion can surface as:
A promotion pop-up (shows once per patient, then not again for 24 hours)
A promotion banner at the top of the app (rotates with the Affirm banner every 5 seconds when both are on)
Home and Browse hero imagery (rotates every 5 seconds with other hero images)
The custom shop category tab, thumbnail, and header in Shop
Active vs. scheduled: Only one sitewide promotion is active at a time. Scheduled promotions respect the linked category’s start and end dates.
Dunning override: Patients in membership dunning see only the failed-payment banner. See Membership dunning on your patient app.
When to use the discount path instead: Choose Create a sitewide promotion with a special offer (Admin Panel) for eCommerce holiday sales, launch-party exclusives, or any promotion that needs a percentage or dollar discount.

Best Practices and Pro Tips
Use clear category names so patients understand what they are browsing (for example, “Staff Favorites” or “New Laser Treatments”).
Match category schedule to promotion dates so the tab does not appear before the category goes live.
Turn off the banner if you only want a one-time pop-up, or turn off the pop-up for banner-only visibility.
Plan the next promotion before the current one ends. Only one sitewide promotion can be active at a time.
Upgrade to a sale by creating a new promotion with a special offer when you are ready to discount.
Common Mistakes and FAQs
Q: Can I add a discount later without rebuilding the category?
A: You cannot convert an awareness-only sitewide promotion into a discounted one in place. Create a new sitewide promotion and select Yes, I am promoting a sale. See Edit a sitewide promotion (Admin Panel) for what fields can change on a live promotion.
Q: If both the Affirm banner and promotional banner are live, which shows first?
A: They rotate every 5 seconds. If Affirm is off, the promotional banner stays at the top for the promotion’s duration.
Q: How often do hero images rotate?
A: Every 5 seconds. Rotation timing cannot be edited at this time.
Q: How often does the pop-up appear?
A: Once per patient, then not again for 24 hours.
Q: Can I run two sitewide promotions at once?
A: Only one can be active at a time. You can schedule multiple future promotions.
Q: Do I need a custom shop category first?
A: Yes. Create the category, add services, and set dates before launching the sitewide promotion.
