How to create: Multiple and Scheduled Custom Shop Categories (CSCs) and Sitewide Promotions (SWPs) 

Custom Shop Categories allow you to group treatments and packages into curated categories that patients can browse and purchase in app.

Create a Custom Shop Category

1. Log in to your Admin Panel and navigate to App Builder in the left-hand navigation menu.

2. Click "Shop: Browse" and scroll down to your shop categories.

3. Click "+ Add a Custom Category" to create a new category.

4. Click into the small grey box to upload your Custom category display image. This will appear on your shop browse page.

We recommend this image is 360 x 360px, with a max. file size of 2 MB.

5. Create a category header that will be displayed within the category.

6. Add a short description (recommended: under 20 characters).

7. Upload a category header image that will appear at the top of the category page.

We recommend this image is 1170 x 1080px, with a max. file size of 2 MB

8. Set Start and End Dates for the category if scheduling in advance.

9. Click "Save" to finalize the category setup.

Setup in Admin Panel

In-app reflection

You will be redirected back to your Admin Panel. Your new category will be featured at the top of your shop category list, and an added tab will be at the top of your screen before Memberships.


Managing and Editing Your Custom Shop Categories

  • Expired Categories:

    • When a category reaches its end date, it automatically moves to the "Expired" state and will no longer be visible in the app.

    • Expired categories can still be duplicated and re-used for future promotions.

  • Editing an Existing Category:

    • Click the pencil icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

    • Use the "View and Promote Custom Category" button.

    • Click directly into the new tab at the top of your screen.

  • Duplicating a Custom Shop Category:

    • Navigate to Shop → Browse → Shop Categories.

    • Click "Duplicate" to create a copy of an existing category.

    • The duplicated category will retain all settings and appear as a draft for further customization before activation.

  • Deleting a Custom Category:

    • Use the trash can icon next to the pencil icon to remove a category.

    • Keep in mind that deleted categories cannot be restored and must be recreated if needed in the future.

🔹 If a service you want to add is not live in your shop, go to the Treatments or Packages tab to create it before adding it to a category.


How Sitewide Promotions (SWPs) Work with Custom Shop Categories

  • Link Custom Categories to SWPs: Easily connect an active or scheduled custom shop category to a Sitewide Promotion to ensure visibility at the right time.

  • Categories Follow Visibility Rules: Scheduled categories remain hidden until their start date and disappear once expired.

  • Efficient Promotion Management: When creating an SWP, the linked category is automatically pre-filled, reducing manual steps.

  • Plan Ahead with Future SWPs: Schedule multiple promotions in advance, ensuring strategic activation when needed.

When creating an SWP, you can now link it to an already scheduled custom shop category for better promotion planning in the future.

Other Enhancement SWP Notes:

  • Visibility and Expiration Rules: Custom shop categories tied to an SWP will remain hidden until their activation date and disappear from the app once expired.

  • Improved SWP List Page: A new column shows which category is linked to each SWP.

  • Pre-Filled Category Selection: When creating an SWP from Shop → Custom Categories, the selected category is automatically pre-filled.

  • Select Category Directly in the SWP Drawer: When creating an SWP from the SWP page, you can now link a category directly.

  • Only One Active SWP at a Time: Multiple SWPs can be scheduled in advance, but only one can be active at a time.

  • Future-dated SWPs: You can now schedule future-dated SWPs for better promotion planning.

  • Improved SWP List Page: A new column shows which category is linked to each SWP.
