When to use webhooks
Webhooks let you send contact data from Retention.com to a custom endpoint.
This option is best for advanced setups.
Use webhooks when:
You want to send contacts to a custom system
You are not using a supported email platform
You have technical resources available
You're using a workflow tool (Make, etc.)
Before you begin
You'll need:
A webhook URL that can receive POST requests
A system that can process incoming contact data
Connect webhooks
Log in to Retention.com
Open Settings
Open Integrations
Select Webhooks URL
Complete setup
Important to know
Webhooks do not automatically check your existing contacts. You will need to manually exclude contacts you already have so they are not re-identified.
If your existing contact list has 250,000 contacts or more, you must use a manual CSV upload — automatic cross-referencing does not apply at that scale.
What happens next
Once connected, contact data will be sent to your webhook as new contacts are identified.
