What are Extended Deadlines and how do they work?

Extended Deadlines allow you to extend the return, exchange, or complaint deadline for a specific order, even after the original deadline has passed.

This is useful when you want to make an exception for an individual customer.

What are Extended Deadlines?

Extended Deadlines allow you to manually extend the deadline for a single order.

Example:

Your return deadline is 14 days.
A customer contacts you on day 15 and wants to return an item.

Instead of rejecting the request, you can extend the deadline by:

  • 1 week

  • 2 weeks

  • 1 month

  • Indefinitely

This applies only to the selected order.

How does it work?

If you want to extend the deadline for a specific order:

  1. Go to the Returbo app

  2. Navigate to Settings → Request Settings → General

  3. Scroll down to Extending deadline on a specific order

  4. Click + Extend deadline on specific order

Step 1: Find the order

  • Enter the order number in Search for an order

  • Click on the order

❗ Important: You must enter only numbers. Do not include letters or characters.

Step 2: Choose extension settings

  • Select how long you want to extend the deadline
(1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, or indefinite)

  • Select which request types you want to extend:

    • Return

    • Exchange

    • Complaint
(You can choose one or multiple)

Click Save deadline.

You will now see the order listed under your active extended deadlines.

Once the new deadline passes, the order will automatically expire (unless set to indefinite).

How to edit an Extended Deadline

Extended deadlines cannot be edited directly.

To change one:

  1. Click the 🗑️ icon next to the order

  2. Click Proceed and delete

  3. Create a new extended deadline with the updated settings

I can’t find my extended deadline order

If the order does not appear in the list:

  1. Click Show full list

  2. Review all active orders

You can also:

  • Click + Extend deadline on specific order

  • Search for the order number again

After saving, a confirmation popup will appear and take you directly to the extended order.

How to deactivate an Extended Deadline

Extended deadlines are automatically deactivated when the extended period expires (unless set to indefinite).

If you want to deactivate one manually:

  1. Click the 👁️ icon next to the order

  2. Click Deactivate deadline

  3. Click Proceed and deactivate

The order will now appear under Expired orders.

Summary

Extended Deadlines allow you to:

  • Make exceptions for individual orders

  • Extend return, exchange, or complaint deadlines

  • Choose how long the extension applies

  • Deactivate or delete the extension if needed

This feature applies only to specific orders and does not affect your general return policy.
