Learn how to preview your text and email messages to ensure they look perfect before they reach your patients.


โœจ When You Need This Guide

Use this guide if you want to:

  1. Preview a text or email message before sending it to patients.

  2. Check formatting or links before launching a campaign.

  3. Test bulk messages by sending them to yourself first.

  4. Make sure your message sounds great and looks professional.

You'll Need:

  • An active ALOHA account.

  • A draft text or email template you want to review.

  • Access to the email address or phone number originally used to open your ALOHA account.


โœ… Test a Saved SMS Message

Testing a Saved SMS Message works a little differently than other templates. Because these are often sent manually, you will test them by sending one to your own profile.

  1. Create and Save your SMS message under Contacts > Saved Messages.

  2. Navigate to Contacts > Conversations.

  3. Search for your own name to find the test profile associated with your personal phone number.

  4. Click the Pencil Icon โœ๏ธ located next to the text message typing box.

  5. Select your Saved Message from the list and send it.

  6. Check your phone to see exactly how it looks!


โœ… Test a Standard SMS Message

For all other text templates (like Birthday Campaigns, Feedback Requests, or Appointment Reminders), follow these standard steps:

  1. Open the template editor and type your message.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen to find the testing section.

  3. Click โ€œSave/Send Test SMS.โ€

    • Note: ALOHA automatically sends this test to the phone number registered to the account owner. You cannot manually enter a different number here. To change this number contact ALOHA support.

  4. Check your phone. You should receive the message within a few seconds.


โœ… Send a Test Email Message

This process applies to ALL email templates, whether they are for campaigns or individual messages.

  1. Write your email content in the editor as you normally would.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen to find the testing section..

  3. Click the Save/Send Test Email button to send the proof.

    • Note: Just like with the standard text test, this email is sent exclusively to the email address on file for the ALOHA account holder.

  4. Check your inbox. Your test email should arrive quickly!

The test went to the wrong person/device

The "Send Test" button defaults to the contact info used to open the ALOHA account.

Contact ALOHA Support to update the file contact information for your account.

You clicked "Send Test" but didn't receive it

The email might be in spam, or the phone number on file is outdated.

Check your Spam folder first. If it's not there, verify your account contact info with Support.

I can't find the "Send Test" button for my Saved Message

Saved SMS messages must be tested manually via the Contacts page.
