✨ When You Need This Guide

Out of the office but need to follow up with a patient? The Aloha Provider App lets you easily call, text, or send images to patients—all from your smartphone.

Use this guide if you're asking:

  • “How do I call a patient from the Aloha app?”

  • “Can I send a text while I’m not at my desk?”

  • “How do I attach or send a photo through the Aloha app?”

  • “Why does my personal number show when I call patients from the app?”

How to Call a Patient from the Aloha App

🔔 Heads Up! When you call a patient through the app, your personal cell phone number will display—not the Aloha or office number used for texting.

  1. Open the Aloha App and tap the “Contacts” icon
It’s the center icon at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Search for the patient’s name
Use the search bar to find their profile.

  3. Tap on the patient’s name
    Their contact details will display.

  4. Click the phone icon
This will place the call using your phone’s number.

✅ What to expect: The patient will see your mobile number on their caller ID.

💬 How to Send a Text Message from the Aloha App

Whether you're in the car (parked!) or between appointments, texting from the app is quick and familiar.

  1. Tap the “Convos” icon to open your message inbox
You’ll see your most recent conversations.

  2. Select an existing conversation

    • Or, tap the search bar to look for a specific patient

    • Tap the magnifying glass to switch between search types

    • Tap the person icon to filter by user (if multiple providers)

  3. Tap on the message thread
You’ll see your conversation history with that patient.

  4. Type your message in the text box at the bottom
Hit send (arrow icon) when you're ready!

🖼️ How to Send an Image to a Patient

Want to share a photo or document? You can send it directly from the patient's contact screen.

  1. Tap the “Contacts” icon
This is the center icon on the bottom menu.

  2. Search and select the patient’s name

  3. Tap “Share Photo”
Choose an image from your phone’s photo library.

✅ What to expect: The image will appear in the patient's message thread in the Aloha inbox.
