⏰ Set Custom Appointment Hours for Each Appointment Type

Control exactly when each appointment type can be booked online or in the app

✨ When You Need This Guide

Use this when you want to:

  • Customize specific hours for an appointment type

  • Only allow a certain appointment to be booked during select times

  • Adjust booking availability without changing your full business schedule

Common questions this answers:

  • “How do I edit hours for a specific appointment?”

  • “Why is this appointment showing at the wrong times?”

  • “Can I limit when patients can schedule this service?”


✅ Edit Appointment Hours by Type

Let’s get the right appointment offered at the right time!

  1. Go to the SCHEDULING tab in your Aloha dashboard

  2. Click on SETTINGS

  3. Scroll down and click “Set Appointment Type Schedules”

  4. Select the appointment type you want to edit hours for

  5. Choose your preferred method to update the schedule:

    • Click and Drag: Use your mouse to highlight the hours you want this appointment to be available. Any time highlighted in blue is open for booking.

    • Manual Input: Type in your available hours directly. You can also add multiple rows to block off time (e.g., closed for lunch).

  6. Click SAVE SCHEDULE to confirm your updates

💡 Tip: Only the selected appointment type will be updated. You can customize hours individually for each type!


🎉 You’ll Know It Worked When:

  • Only the times you selected are available for booking that appointment

  • The appointment no longer shows outside of its scheduled hours

  • The changes take effect instantly on both the Online Scheduler and Scheduling App

Refresh your browser and double-check the correct appointment

Availability looks too wide or too narrow

Revisit your input method—click-and-drag may have extra hours

Patients can’t book it at all

Ensure some times are highlighted or manually entered
