Efficiency is the name of the game when it comes to making sure everything is good to go with your patient's appointment. Clerk breaks this idea down into two parts:
the administrative part
the provider's part
The administrative part will focus on making sure the patient has their financials handled at checkout. By selecting the Mark Appointment Completed button below the Invoice Number, you should see the appointment move to the Checked Out column on the Practice Manager.
✨Note:✨This function will set future appointments up for success when it comes to SALT-ing treatment information such as SOAP Notes and Line Items on the Outcome Screen or charges from the Checkout Page from previously Completed appointments. You may CLICK HERE to learn more about SALT.
✨PSST!✨ If you're concerned about patients getting checked out without an invoice created and financials logged, your Advanced Settings has a feature that disallows patients to be checked out without an invoice created, and will direct you to mark the appointment as complete from the Invoice Page. Signing SOAP Notes is delegated strictly to Users with the Provider Role added to their User Profile in Clerk, and allows the Sign Notes button to appear in the lower righthand corner of the Overview on the Outcome screen:
Clerk keeps this part separated from the administrative part due to the fact that Notes can be added/finished after the patient has been checked out for the day. Signed Notes and Completed Appointments are broken down differently when looking at Clerk's overall operational duties, and are reported differently under our Operational Reports.

We love an efficient workflow! 🤩
