Custom Dimensions in Revlitix are user-defined attributes that allow you to classify and analyze data beyond the standard dimensions provided by the platform.

They enable you to tailor your data analysis to the specific needs of your organization.​

Why Use Custom Dimensions?

Custom Dimensions offer the flexibility to:​

  • Classify Data: Organize your data into categories that are meaningful to your organization.​

  • Analyze Specific Attributes: Focus on particular attributes not covered by standard dimensions, giving you more control over your reports.​

  • Gain Additional Insights: By tailoring your dimensions, you can extract insights that are more aligned with your business goals.


How to Create Custom Dimensions

Follow these steps to create your Custom Dimensions:


Step1 :Provide a Field Name and Description

  • Field Name: Enter a clear and descriptive name for the custom dimension to identify it later quickly.​

  • Field Description: Add a brief description to explain the purpose of this dimension.


Step 2: Specify the Channel and Object

  • Channel: Select the channel (e.g., website, mobile app) where the custom dimension will be applied.


  • Object: Choose the specific object (e.g., user, session) to which the custom dimension will relate.​.

Step 3: Select the Data Type

  • For Custom Dimensions, the only available data type is 'Text'.


Step 4: Define Buckets

  • Create Conditions and Groups:

    • Conditions: These are individual criteria or values you want to classify your data.

    • Groups: A collection of conditions that you can name for easy reference.


Add Conditions:

  • Click on 'Add Conditions' to create a new row where you can define a condition.

  • Based on your needs, select the appropriate operator ('And' or 'Or') to link the conditions.


Create New Buckets:

  • Click 'Add New Bucket' for additional groupings to create more buckets.

  • You can also copy existing conditions into new buckets if needed.

Step 5: Finalize the Custom Dimension

  • Once all the necessary information and conditions are set, click 'Create' to finalize the Custom Dimension.
