Participants: Your RiseKit Checklist ✅

You just received your RiseKit account. Now what?

Updated this week

Please note: Your privacy and trust is the most important thing to us. The information you submit through your RiseKit account will never be shared and is only accessible to your supporting organization and RiseKit team members.

✅ Complete Your Profile

Once you have logged into your RiseKit account for the first time, you'll be presented with a welcome screen that encourages you to get started building your profile. This includes following a short series of questions collecting basic information about who you are and some of your background.

Why is this important?

Adding this information helps your assigned support staff better organize your participation as part of their programming and gives them critical insights into how they best begin to help you achieve your goals.

✅ Add Your Goals

Once you've completed your profile, RiseKit will direct you to add personal goals to your account. Another series of questions will be generated based on your most pressing needs and will ask you to share more about your career and the potential barriers that your assigned support staff can help you address.

Why is this important?

Adding goals has a direct connection with your assigned support staff's ability to recommend personalized opportunities as you progress through your programming. Sharing this information with those who are supporting you is crucial to your success in being matched with the right resources at the right time and reduces the time it takes to actually reach your goals.

✅ Add Your Resume

With your goals added to your account, the next step in achieving those goals is to share your skills and experience. Adding a resume is very easy in RiseKit -- even if you don't have one yet. You can simply upload an existing document or if you are starting from scratch, you can create a new one using RiseKit's Resume Builder. As shown below, RiseKit will ask about your work experiences and quickly generate relevant skills and responsibilities to add to your document.

Under the Resume Builder, you'll need to add a minimum of two (2) previous work experiences and five (5) skills before your resume is completed and automatically added to your RiseKit account.

Why is this important?

Not only is a resume required to apply for jobs, adding this information also allows your assigned support staff and RiseKit to recommend jobs and training that matches and builds upon your real-world experience.

✅ Explore Resources

You can explore and apply for training programs and support services at anytime on RiseKit, regardless of your stage or status. However, once you have a resume added to your account, you can begin to explore and apply for available jobs through the RiseKit Network. These jobs are updated everyday and can be found under the Resources tab at the bottom of the screen. You can switch between the type of resources at the top (jobs, training, support, etc.), as well as filter your search by location, whether the opportunities are background friendly, and more.

Why is this important?

Your assigned support staff may send you opportunities they find through RiseKit, but RiseKit empowers you, as the participant, with tools to accelerate your path to reaching your goals. That means finding and applying to the right opportunities anytime you want and taking the initiative to collaborate with those at your supporting organization.

✅ Connect with Your Assigned Support Staff

RiseKit allows you to send messages to your assigned support staff anytime you have questions, want to discuss opportunities, or have anything else to say. You can start or continue a conversation under the Chat tab at the bottom of the screen, and if you have a mobile phone number added to your account, you will be able to send and receive these messages via text anytime, anywhere.

Simply click on the Chat tab, and you will see a conversation from your supporting organization already inside. Any messages you send will automatically be received by your assigned support staff.

Why is this important?

Staying in communication with your supporting organization ensures that you not only stay top-of-mind with the people helping you find the right opportunities, but also allows you to collaborate on resources, keeps them in the loop with your progress against challenging barriers, and builds trust. For these reasons, we recommend you touch base with your assigned support staff at least one/week.

If you have any further questions, please reach out to your support staff or you can always RiseKit's AI, Kitt, for more answers at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.
