Overview

Ever wanted to see the associated scenarios of an equipment or instrument tag across all of your PHAs? Or wanted to look for specific sequence of events that may occur in any of your PHAs?

The LivePHA® Global Search function allows searching of key words through your data to quickly find PHAs of interest.

Navigation

From the the main menu, the Global Search page can be accessed through the "Search Across All PHA Projects" option (see Figure 1 below).

Search Functions

To use the Global Search feature, simply get going by typing what you want to search for in the search bar and press SEARCH or the Enter key on your keyboard. The Risk Alive Global Search feature also has a few different searching methods to provide more options to get you the optimal search results (See Figure 2 below).

1. OR Operations

By default, the search feature will use the "OR Operations", which will provide a match when any terms typed into the search bar is found. The results that contain all entered terms will be prioritized over the results that only contain a part of the search terms.

For example, if you type in "loss of containment", the search feature will give results that contain "loss" or "of" or "containment.

2. AND Operations

This feature can be used by placing the "+" in front of the term that the results must contain. The placement of the "+" matters more for searches that are 3 terms or longer.

For example, if you type in any of the following variations:

  • "+compressor overspeeds"

  • "compressor + overspeeds"

  • "+compressor + overspeeds"

the search feature will give the same results for "compressor overspeeds".

However, if you look up "+loss of containment", the search feature will give results for "loss of" or "loss containment", where "loss" is the term that must be included. If you want the search results to include the entirety of "loss of containment", you can use any of the following variations:

  • "+loss +of containment"

  • "+loss +of +containment"

  • "loss +of +containment"

  • "+loss of +containment"

To be safe, a "+" should be placed in front of every term if you want to look up a phrase. Alternatively, you can use the Literal Operation, see below.

3. NOT Operations

Place a "-" in front of the term that the results must not contain.

For example, if you are looking for leaking scenarios that were not due to corrosion, you can type in "leak -corrosion".

4. Literal Operations

This function specifies searching for an exact match of one or more words by placing the terms in quotation marks.

For example, if you want to look up loss of containment scenarios, you can type in " "loss of containment" "
