Overview

A common industry challenge is "We don’t refer back to the PHA during normal operations because it quickly becomes out-of-date after the PHA, as changes occur at site"

LivePHA™ addresses this challenge! It presents organizations with a simple web based PHA editing platform where new scenarios, barriers, and other risk documentation can be recorded with built-in validation to ensure quality and consistency.

Not only that, but through LivePHA, you can make LIVE updates to your PHA Analytics so that your teams always have the most up-to-date insights to make risk-based decisions.

Feature Activation

Activating the feature

Here's the best part - we've automatically enabled LivePHA for your organization's PHA data within Risk Alive. However, if you don't see this feature active for a given PHA report/s, let your Customer Success team know through the in-app chat and we'll help you out!

Availability on specific reports

LivePHA activation status, like most features within Risk Alive, can be viewed directly from your organization's Dashboard page. Click on the down arrow next to the "View Report" button to determine if LivePHA is active. If it is, there will be an option to "Live PHA Project".

Grid View vs. Tree View

Within LivePHA, you can view your data in a Grid View or Tree View layout.

Grid View layout presents PHA data in a traditional, desktop browser friendly format. Specific node/s can be expanded to view all the corresponding PHA information contained within them.

Tree View layout presents PHA data in a mobile browser friendly format and allows you to view a PHA scenario in its entirety.

You can toggle between the two layouts at any point by clicking on the left-side banner.

Searching

LivePHA enables you to find what you're looking for in your PHA data quickly and efficiently. Simply click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner, and type a keyword or a tag number in the "Search" field.

The relevant sections of the PHA are automatically filtered and search results are presented with your desired keyword or tag number highlighted, making it easier to find the information you're searching for. To exit the Search function, simply click on "Reset" to unfilter the search results and click on the "x" in the upper right corner.

Editing

Let's say you uncover a new scenario after a PHA is completed - from an incident in the industry or a learning within your organization. Or through day-to-day operations, you find that a certain safeguard works better at mitigating a given scenario than what's documented in the PHA today. Or you're diving into your PHA data and notice some quality inconsistencies.

Typically, you would document these findings "somewhere" and then feed it to your team at the next PHA cycle a few years later. With LivePHA, you don't have to wait! You can capture these changes to your PHA data in real-time and feed updated analytics and insights back to your teams!

You can add or delete Nodes, Deviations, Causes, Consequences, Safeguards or Recommendation. You can even update severity or likelihood levels of Causes/Consequences. And much more! Reach out to your Risk Alive Customer Success team if you're wondering how you can update your PHA data with a specific finding at your site.

History

The History tab allows tracking of changes in the PHA data in the context of who made the change, when was the change made, and what the change was. All changes are summarized in a viewer-friendly timeline format, with the ability to drill down into further details for each change as-needed.

The History of changes can be found by clicking on the "clock" icon in the left-side ribbon of your LivePHA window (see Fig 6. below). Learn more about how you can track your changes in LivePHA here.

LIVE Analytics Updates

LivePHA has built-in validation checks that help ensure quality and consistency of PHA documentation in its original state and as it is updated based on findings at site. These validation checks are based on industry best practices for PHA documentation and Risk Alive learnings on data quality that yields the most valuable safety and operational insights.

Validation warnings and errors can be viewed in the top right-hand corner of the page. The warnings are grouped into themes to help you navigate and resolve them efficiently. Clicking on a validation warning will take you to the exact location within the PHA data where the inconsistency is noted (indicated by a red exclamation mark). You can use the "Editing" functionality within LivePHA to resolve these as you go. The Validation warnings and errors will update live as you resolve inconsistencies withing the data.

Once all the data inconsistencies have been resolved, you can now refresh your analytics reports with all of the changes you just made by clicking on the "Update Analytics" button! In this way, your site teams can have the most up-to-date information and insights to make risk-based decisions.

You can export your PHA data into CSV format at anytime by clicking on the Export button in the drop-down list under the "three dots" at the top right-hand corner of your screen.
