Road Ninja provides complementary Public & Statutory Liability insurance cover for all contract drivers while operating on the Road Ninja Platform, subject to the specific policy terms, conditions, and exclusions. This coverage is designed to provide an additional layer of protection and support for drivers completing jobs facilitated through our platform.

We offer this insurance for two main reasons.

First, we aim to protect our drivers from various work-related risks while significantly reducing the costs associated with commercial contract driving.

Second, this insurance gives transport companies the confidence that appropriate protections are in place to minimise the impact of any unexpected incidents.

What Is Public and Statutory Liability Insurance?

Public Liability Insurance

Public Liability insurance provides coverage for your legal responsibility if your actions unintentionally cause injury to another person or damage to their property. This policy covers the associated legal defense costs that may arise from such an event.

Statutory Liability Insurance

Statutory Liability insurance provides coverage for liability that results from an unintentional breach of most New Zealand statutes. All businesses and contractors face potential liability from investigations or prosecutions by regulatory bodies for alleged violations, and this policy is designed to cover the associated costs.

What Happens if I'm Involved in an Accident?

If you're a Road Ninja driver and you're involved in an accident, make sure that all parties involved are safe and if necessary, contact emergency services to get immediate assistance (dial 111).

As soon as you've determined that you and any involved parties are safe, contact the transport company who you're providing contract transport services to and they'll provide you with instructions.

Secondly, make sure you also contact Road Ninja to report the accident.

You can do this by opening your Road Ninja app and heading to Settings > Support. You'll be able to start a support chat, and let us know what's happened.

If you're a transport company using Road Ninja and need to report an incident, message us at support@roadninja.co.nz.

We'll be able to provide support, guidance and upon request, further documentation relating to our insurance policies.

Stay safe out there ❤️
