Why Do You Need to Update Your Licence Details?
To drive on Road Ninja, you must always possess a current and valid New Zealand driver’s licence, including any required endorsements, which fully meets the legal requirements for every job on our platform. Our system automatically checks your driver's licence every three days to ensure continuous compliance and validity.
Whenever you renew, replace, or update your licence, you’re required to update your licence details in the Road Ninja app. This is crucial because our automated checks rely on the most up-to-date information. Your licence may be flagged as invalid even without full expiry if:
You receive a new version number due to an endorsement change or other licence update, which you must manually input into the system.
You have expired endorsements (e.g., a P endorsement).
Your entered details (such as last name, licence number, or selected licence class) do not exactly match official records.
What Happens if Your Licence Details Are Invalid?
Your profile will become invisible to transport companies. This limits your opportunities for work, as companies will not be able to find or book you.
You will receive email and push notifications from Road Ninja informing you that your status is currently invalid, that you are invisible, and that you need to update your information in the Road Ninja app.
Restoring Your Visibility
Once you have updated your licence details in the app, and the system performs its next check to confirm your licence is valid, your visibility status should typically be restored in less than 72 hours.
