To accept jobs and drive on the Road Ninja platform, you must hold a current and valid New Zealand driver’s licence, along with any necessary endorsements. This is a non-negotiable legal requirement that ensures every job booked through our platform meets industry compliance standards.
To maintain this compliance, our system performs an automated licence check every three days.
The Impact of an Invalid Licence
If your licence details are flagged as invalid, your profile is immediately hidden from companies. This means:
❌ You will not appear in search results.
❌ You cannot accept new bookings.
❌ Your profile remains invisible until the information is corrected and verified.
Why Is My Licence Marked as "Invalid"?
It is common for a licence to be flagged even if it hasn't expired. This typically happens because of a data mismatch between your Road Ninja profile and official NZTA records. Common reasons include:
New Version Number | Whenever you renew or update your licence (e.g., adding an endorsement), you receive a new 3-digit version number. This must be manually updated in the app. |
Expired Endorsements | If an endorsement (like your Passenger 'P' endorsement) expires, your entire licence will be flagged as invalid. |
Data Entry Errors | Your last name, licence number, and version number must exactly match the records held by the NZTA. |
Mismatched Classes/Endorsements | If your identity details match but your selected licence classes or endorsements do not, our system will automatically remove the mismatched entries to maintain accuracy. |
How to Update Your Licence Details
Whenever you receive a replacement or updated licence card, you must update your profile in the Road Ninja app immediately to avoid a loss of visibility.
Open the Road Ninja app and navigate to the Profile tab.
Select Specifications > Update Licence.
Remove Old Photos: Tap the 'X' on your current licence images.
Upload New Photos: Tap Add Photos to upload clear images of the front and back of your new card.
Enter Version Number: Type in your new 3-digit version number exactly as it appears on your card.
Verify Classes & Endorsements: Ensure your selected qualifications match your current licence.
Tap Save.

✅ Make sure all four corners of the card are visible.
Restoring Your Visibility
Updating your licence details triggers an automatic validation check.
Fast Track: Verification typically takes less than one minute.
System Processing: In some instances, due to system syncs, it may take up to 72 hours for your profile to become visible again.
As soon as your details are verified against official records, your profile will automatically reappear in company searches.
