How to Set Up Leads Lists

Unlike a referral sale (where the referral has purchased a product), a referral lead has “opted in” for something free, using their email address.

Leads are often gathered via sharing free content, like webinars, bootcamps, video series, free events and trainings, or free trials. Leads could also come from applications or booking demo or sales calls. It’s a way of gathering email addresses so you know who might be interested in purchasing your offers.

If you don’t currently have anything where people opt-in for free with their email, we suggest skipping this step for now!

A leads list is a way you can show your affiliates who is opting in (for free) with their email address. It’s typically related to our offer and part of the sales process.

For example:

With Rootabl, you have the ability to show referred “leads” to affiliates.

This means, if you give them a tracking link to your webinar sign-up page, they can see the emails of anyone who has signed up for the webinar!

This really boosts sales, because your affiliate now has the ability to follow up with their referred leads and help leads decide if your offer is right for them to purchase.

As a reminder: This is for free opt-ins where they are not paying any money, simply putting their email address in.

To set up a leads list, you’ll input the URL of where people are inputting their email addresses for a specific opt-in. You can also add a tag, which will appear beside the email address in the leads list.

You can add as many leads lists as you’d like, all with different tags.

For example, if you have both a webinar and an application, you can put in both URLS with different tags, so that you and affiliates can see their referrals for both.
