Before you sign up for a Nomad Insurance Essential plan, you’ll need to create a SafetyWing account. Simply enter your email address and password, or sign up with Gmail, Facebook, or Apple.
Once your account is created, log into your dashboard and click “Buy Now” in the Essential Plan box to begin your application.
Step 1: Choose your start date.
For a subscription plan paid every 28 days (auto-extends every 28 days up to 364 days): leave the end date blank.
For a subscription plan paid every 364 days: select the "364-day subscription" option. This covers a full 364-day active insurance period in one payment and includes a 10% discount on the total price.
To set a specific end date, check the box “Pay upfront for specific dates” and select your date. Please note that you can buy this plan from 5 days minimum, up to 364 days.
You can also add extra coverage:
✅ Adventure Sports (subscription plans only)
✅ Electronics Theft (subscription plans only)
✅ US add-on (available for both subscription and fixed-end-date plans)
Step 2: Add your plan members
You can include other members at sign-up by clicking “Add plan members.”
If traveling alone, select “I’m going solo.”
⚠️If your travel companion is from the same home country and you are traveling together, you can add them in this step.
⚠️ Group members can only be added at sign-up. To add later, you’d need to cancel your plan and purchase a new one.
Step 3: Review your information
This step is to make sure that the information you've provided is all correct.
Step 4: Enter payment information
Once you click “Purchase plan”, your payment will be charged immediately, even if your plan starts later.
If you cannot click the "Purchase plan" button, here are some tips:
Make sure that there are no special characters in any name or address field above.
Enter your payment details manually instead of using the auto-fill function on your browser
Turn off the translation feature on the web browser
✅ Once you complete these steps, you’ve officially signed up for your Nomad Insurance Essential plan!
