Nomad Insurance Essential is a travel medical plan that can provide coverage for:
Medically necessary treatments for unexpected emergencies outside of your home country.
Situations like travel delays, lost checked luggage, and emergency evacuation for medical reasons or from local unrest.

Minimum coverage period:
Nomad Insurance Essential requires a minimum purchase of 5 days.
Coverage cannot be purchased for fewer than 5 days under any option.
Maximum coverage period:
Nomad Insurance Essential can be bought for a maximum of 364 days.
Coverage cannot be purchased for more than 364 days under any option.
Nomad Insurance Essential covers every country, except for:
Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Puerto Rico, Syria, Russia & Belarus
Select regions of Ukraine: Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia
🇺🇸 Coverage in the USA
Coverage in the United States is only available if the US add-on is selected. The US add-on can be purchased only by non-US citizens and non-US residents.
US citizens and US residents can purchase the Nomad Insurance Essential plan, but they cannot add the US add-on.

Nomad Insurance Essential does not require you to provide travel plans. Wherever you wind up, you will be covered (with the exception of the countries listed above).
We offer three types of plan options:
Recurring/subscription plan – paid every 28 days: This plan is charged every 28 days for up to 364 days. You only need to choose a start date. After the initial payment, subsequent payments are processed 3 days before each 28-day cycle. All available add-ons (the US, the Adventure sports, and the Electronic theft add-on) can be included with this plan.
Recurring/subscription plan – paid every 364 days: This plan is billed as a single payment for a full 364-day active insurance period and comes with a 10% discount on the total price. You only need to choose a start date. All available add-ons (the US, the Adventure sports, and the Electronic theft add-on) can be included. Home country coverage is available for up to 179 days per 364-day active insurance period, with each visit limited to a maximum of 90 consecutive days. If your home country is the US, coverage is limited to 45 days per 180 days of active insurance.
Fixed-date plan: This plan can be purchased for a minimum of 5 days, up to 364 days. You’ll select both a start date and an end date, and the full payment is required at checkout. Please note that only the US add-on is available with this plan. The Adventure Sports and Electronic Theft add-ons are not offered with this payment option.
