The excess is the amount of money you choose to pay towards a claim.
Saga HealthPlans offer a choice of the following optional excesses:
£0
£100
£250
£500
£750
£1,000
Your excess will renew at the beginning of each policy year even if you’re midway through treatment.
So, your excess could apply twice to a single course of treatment if your treatment begins in one policy year and continues into the next policy year.
Please note, if you are switching from an employer scheme (group switch) you will have a minimum compulsory excess of £250. A group switch is not available to purchase online, please call the Saga Customer Care Team on 0330 018 1361 for more information.
You are only able to increase your excess midterm but cannot decrease it.
You can increase or decrease your excess at renewal.
