As with other insurance, adding an excess to your policy reduces the cost. This is the amount you agree to pay towards eligible treatment, before any benefit is payable.
Choose from the following optional excesses, which are payable once per person per policy year, regardless of the number of claims you make in that year:
£100
£250
£500
£750
£1,000
If your claim continues into the next policy year, your excess will apply again.
Please note, if you are switching from an employer scheme (group switch) you will have a minimum compulsory excess of £250. A group switch is not available to purchase online. Please call the Saga Customer Care Team on 0330 018 1361 for more information.
You are only able to increase your excess midterm but cannot decrease it. You can increase or decrease your excess at renewal.
