Overview
Salesbuildr enables connections with various distributors to automatically retrieve product pricing and availability. This guide details the process for setting up distributor connections, configuring selection rules, and managing distributor priorities to streamline your procurement operations.
Getting Started with Distributors
Obtaining Distributor Credentials
To begin integrating distributors into your Salesbuildr account, you first need to acquire access credentials:
Complete the application process, as most distributors require this to grant you access to pricing and availability data.
Once approved, you will receive FTP credentials (typically a username and password) from the distributor.
Use these credentials to configure your distributor connection within Salesbuildr.
Note: The approval time for your request may vary by distributor and typically takes several business days.
Adding Distributor Connections
Follow these steps to connect a distributor to your Salesbuildr account:
Go to Settings > Admin > Distributors > Connections.
Select the distributor you wish to connect from the list displayed.
Enter the credentials provided by your distributor (generally username and password).
Click Save to establish the connection.
Salesbuildr will validate your credentials and activate the connection.
After a successful connection, Salesbuildr will start importing pricing and availability information from the chosen distributor.
Configuring Distributor Selection Rules
You can set up Salesbuildr to automatically choose the best distributor for each product based on your established preferences. Here’s how to configure these rules:
Navigate to Settings > Admin > Distributors > Priority.
Drag and drop distributors into the Preferred distributors section in your desired order of priority.
This order dictates which distributor will be selected first when multiple distributors are available for a product.
These selection rules apply to products that have:
A valid manufacturer part number set.
No explicitly configured cost price.

Advanced Distributor Settings
To refine how Salesbuildr selects distributors, additional settings can be configured:
Stock-Based Rules
Only consider incoming stock/ATP if it's within X days: Set a specific timeframe for incoming stock that should be included.
Only consider distributors with recent updates: Exclude distributors whose data has not been updated within a specified period.
Pricing Rules
If a price from a different distributor is X% lower, select that distributor: Automatically select a non-preferred distributor if their price surpasses a defined lower threshold compared to your preferred ones.
Troubleshooting Distributor Connections
If you experience issues with your distributor connections, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
Ensure that your credentials are entered correctly.
Verify whether your distributor access remains active.
Check if your internet connection supports FTP access.
Review any error messages found in the connection status.
For ongoing issues, contact Salesbuildr support, providing specific details regarding the distributor and any error messages encountered.
