This arcticle describes how to prepare and setup Autotask for Salesbuildr

Setting your system account country code

To integrate Salesbuildr with Autotask, you need to ensure that your Autotask system account has the appropriate country code. Here's how to do it inside your Autotask PSA:

  1. Log into Autotask.

  2. Navigate to the CRM section.

  3. Make sure the ID field is available

  4. Enter "0" into the ID field, then press enter.

  5. Your company should appear as the sole result.

  6. Make sure your correct country is filled in and click save.

    1. You may click Edit to check for the country

Setup the API credentials for Salesbuildr

Within Autotask, navigate to Admin- Resources (Users). Click or hover over the down arrow on the + New button and select - create a new API user. Fill in the form as shown below. You may keep the name (Salesbuildr API). For email enter a valid (your)company email. Click 'Save & Close'.

Use the buttons to generate a username and password. Save the the username and password as you will need to copy/paste them into Salesbuildr later on.

Setup the API webhook permissions

To enable instant updates for companies and contacts from Autotask to Salesbuildr you will need to create an additional security level that has create webhooks permissions.

Steps from the video below

  1. Navigate to Account Settings & Users

  2. Expand the Resources/Users (HR)

  3. Click 'Security Levels'

  4. Find the API User (system) from Step 1

  5. Hover over the 3 bars on the left and select 'Copy'

  6. Rename it to API User + Webhooks

  7. Scroll down and expand the 'Other' section

  8. Scroll down and enable the [ ] Can create webhooks and set the minimum number to 10

  9. Save and Close

  10. Return to Resources (Users)

  11. Find the API user you created earlier and click 'Edit'

  12. On the right side look for Security Level*

  13. Choose the API User + Webhooks

  14. Click Save and Close

Follow the steps in de video below to set this up:

After creating the API user, please enter them by pressing the "setup Autotask" button in your dashboard.

Enter the API user credentials and click Save. Salesbuildr will now syncronise all companies, contacts, products, services and labour and notify you through email when the synchronisation process is completed.
