How to get started with Salesbuildr

Introduction

This article gives you an overview of how to install and configure Salesbuildr in order to try it out. You can use the trial to get a feel for what Salesbuildr can do and how it works.

Security

We understand that security is of the highest priority for you. To address questions and concerns, we have written a security statement. Please review this before you start to get up to date about our security measures and reach out to us if you need more information.

How is data synchronised between to your PSA?

Salesbuildr is fully functional as a stand alone platform, so you can try out all features and workflows without having to connect your PSA.

When you feel confident Salesbuildr is a good fit for your company and desired outcomes, you can connect your PSA. Jump to the pre-onboarding checklist section to learn how to set this up.

If you are currently using a quoting tool, rest assurered that you can evaluate and use Salesbuildr alongside it without disrupting your existing workflow. Salesbuildr will never delete data in your PSA. For testing purpuses, you can create a test customer in your PSA and use that to create opportunities and propposals.

The table below shows the entitities that will be linked between Salesbuildr and your PSA in order to synchonise the required information. After enabling the integration with your PSA, Salesbuildr will perform an initial syncronisation of internal users, companies, contacts, products, services and labour.

Salesbuildr can create companies and contacts in your PSA and use our Apollo.io integration to automatically fetch information.

Opportunities you create in your PSA will be syncronised to Salesbuildr so you can create quotes that are then linked to the opportunity. Salesbuildr can create, but does not syncronise quotes from your PSA.

Pre-onboarding checklist

Read the pre-onboarding checklist to learn how to create an API user for Salesbuildr if you want to connect it to your existing Autotask PSA or ConnectWise PSA platform.

If you do not use a PSA platform, you can also use Salesbuildr. In that case, you can skip the steps required to connect to your PSA platform.

How can you start a free trial?

This section describes the steps to start your own Salesbuildr instance.

On this screen, sign in with your company SSO. Note that you might need to provide admin consent for the Salesbuildr app in the Microsoft Azure Portal, depending on your company policy and restrictions. Read this article to learn more.

Based on your company domain name that is tied to your email, Salesbuildr will try and fetch your company information from our Apollo.io integration. Correct and add the information as needed, and click confirm to start your instance.

Salesbuildr will now provision your instance.

When it's done, you will be redirected to the homepage, where you can login at the top right of the screen.

After you login to Salesbuildr with the same SSO account that you used to sign-up, you will be taken to your dashboard.

Connecting to your PSA platform

If you want to connect your PSA platform, click on the Setup Autotask Tile to provide the API user credentials. Read this section for the instructions. After you click save, Salesbuildr will start the synchronisation process. You will receive a confirmation email when the synchronisation is finished.

Verify your default opportunity settings

Salesbuildr will automatically use best practice settings if your opportunity fields are standard, but if you have created custom opportunity pipeline stages, categories and sources, you will have to verify and set the default opportunity settings. Read more in this article.

Salesbuildr will automatically use the default payment term for new quotes, but if you have created custom payment terms, you will have to verify and set the default quote settings. Read more in this article.

NOTE: Salesbuildr will never delete data in your PSA. While you can use Salesbuildr to set products and services to inactive, they always be set to active again with the click of a button.
