What does my contact status mean?

Overview

Once your contacts are imported into your campaign they can have the following status:

  • Not Connected: This contact has been successfully imported, however it is not a first level connection.

NOTE: Contacts added to InMail and Groups & Events campaigns will not change their status (they will remain "not connected" regardless of whether they have been sent a message or not, this is because an invite will never be sent from such campaigns)

  • Invite sent: This contact has been sent a connection request but they haven't accepted the invitation yet.

  • Connected: This contact has accepted your invitation and they are now a 1st connection.

NOTE: All contacts added to your Existing connection campaign will always have status "connected" regardless of whether they have been sent a message or not)

  • Invitation Withdrawn: This contact has received a connection request but hasn't accepted it, and the system automatically withdraws the invitation after 20 days.

  • Not verified: Contacts will have the status "Not verified" when you add contacts through a CSV file, via API, or integrations. Once the campaign starts running and the system starts visiting these profiles, contacts will change to the status "Not connected".

How can I see the contact's activity log?

You can check your contacts' activity log by clicking on your contacts. Once clicked a window will open and your activity will have the status "Success" when the action has been successful, or will have an error if the action was not successful.

When your campaign is running and your invitations/follow-ups are getting ready to go out, they will have status "Pending"

You might see errors in your Not Connected contacts. This may happen due to several reasons:

  • Email required: Some LinkedIn users can enable a verification process in place whereby you need to enter the contact's email address in order to be able to send them a connection request. This process cannot be automated and, therefore, these contacts come back labeled as errors and you won't be able to reach out to them.

  • Connection message length: Basic LinkedIn accounts have a limit of 200 characters per connection request message. If your Connection message surpasses 200 character, invites will fail to be sent.

  • Too Many requests: This error appears when LinkedIn temporarily prevents an action due to activity limits on the account. In most cases, this happens when the weekly connection invite limit has been reached.

Unlike other errors, this one is not explicitly described in the Activity Log. Instead, the Activity Log will simply show “Error”.
