What does this mean?
If you see a 'Pending Payment Auth' status on your order, it means your payment was not fully authorized when you checked out. This is usually caused by a security step called 3D Secure (3DS) β a verification process that your bank may require before approving an online purchase.
Don't worry β this doesn't necessarily mean your order has been cancelled or that there's a problem with your card. It just means there's one more step needed to confirm the payment.
What do I need to do?
Right after you placed your order, a verification prompt should have appeared asking you to confirm the payment with your bank. Here's what to look for:
A pop-up on the checkout screen asking you to verify with your bank
A text message from your bank with a one-time code
A push notification from your banking app asking you to approve the transaction
If you missed or dismissed the prompt, try the following:
Check your email inbox for a message from your bank or card issuer about a pending transaction.
Open your banking app and look for a pending approval or verification request.
Check your text messages for a one-time code from your bank.
If you find a verification request, complete it and your order should process automatically.
What if I can't find the verification prompt?
If you've checked your email, texts, and banking app and don't see anything, contact your bank directly. They can confirm whether a 3DS verification was triggered and help you complete it or release the hold.
Will my order be cancelled if I don't verify?
If the payment authorization is not completed within a certain time window, the order may be cancelled automatically. If this happens, your card will not be charged (any pending hold will be released by your bank, typically within 3β5 business days).
You're welcome to place a new order once the issue is resolved β and this time the 3DS prompt should appear right after you hit 'Place Order,' so have your phone nearby to complete the verification quickly.
Tip: To avoid this in the future, make sure your bank has your current phone number on file so they can reach you with verification codes quickly.
