Setting Order Minimums

Order minimums can be set separately for both Pickup and Delivery order types.

If a customer attempts to checkout with a total below the store minimum, it will display a message showing how much more is needed to proceed with the order.

Custom Delivery Fees

Merchants can choose between passing the entire delivery fee to the customer (enabled by default), or setting Custom Rates to offset delivery fees and make it more standardized for customers.

We recommend Custom Rates for the best checkout experience!

Merchants can set delivery fees for different order values up to a maximum of 3 distance segments.

Distance Segments

  • SauceyDirect delivers up to 10 miles from the store location (in aerial distance).

  • Merchants can set up to 3 segments to define delivery fees based on a minimum order value.

Note: While, customers may pay a lower delivery fee, the store will cover any differences against the actual delivery fee charged by the Delivery Service Provider.

Delivery Fee Rules

For each distance segment that's been set, you can set limits on subtotals that unlock lower delivery fees. Below are two examples that you could utilize.

Simple Example

Note: The example below assumes that a $25 Order Minimum has been set.

✨ Recommendations

  • Include an option for free delivery at every stage.

  • Set order minimums to prevent small orders being delivered to far distances.

Scenarios using the example above:

  1. If the order's subtotal is $30 AND the delivery is 1.5 miles from the store:

    1. Customer pays a $5.99 delivery fee.

    2. If the actual delivery cost is $6.50, the store would cover the difference of $6.50 - $5.99 = $0.51

  2. If the subtotal is $80 AND the distance is 6 miles from the store:

    1. Customer pays $5.99 delivery fee.

    2. If actual delivery cost is $7.60, the store would cover $7.60 - $2.99 = $1.61

  3. If the subtotal is $152 AND the distance is 8 miles from the store:

    1. Customer gets free delivery.

    2. If the actual delivery cost is $10.30, the store would cover the full amount.

The delivery fee amount covered by the store will be reflected in the order payout.

Advanced Example

If you wish to follow the structure of how actual delivery fees are calculated, you could use a 3 tier system like the one below. This method offers more incremental savings in delivery fees based on specific subtotals.

Note: The example below assumes that no order minimum has been set.

Compliance Fees

The compliance fee ($2/order) is passed to the customer by default, but can also be set to be covered by the Merchant.
