What is a registered agent?
A registered agent is a person or business entity designated to receive official legal and government documents on behalf of your LLC or corporation. This includes things like:
Service of process — lawsuit notices and court summons
State compliance notices — annual report reminders, tax correspondence, and notices of administrative dissolution
Official government correspondence from the Secretary of State
Every LLC and corporation is required by state law to have a registered agent with a physical street address in the state where the business is formed (or where it's foreign-qualified to do business).
Does SavvyNomad offer registered agent service in Texas?
No — SavvyNomad does not offer registered agent service in Texas at this time. If your LLC or corporation requires a registered agent in Texas, you'll need to designate a third-party registered agent that is licensed and has a physical street address in Texas.
Because registered agents must have a physical presence in the state of formation (or qualification), you'll want to work with a Texas-based registered agent provider to fulfill this requirement.
Can I still use my SavvyNomad address for business mail?
Absolutely. Even though SavvyNomad does not serve as your registered agent, you can still add your business to your USPS Form 1583 and receive business mail at your SavvyNomad mailing address (1111 Oakfield Dr Ste 115, PMB #{customer PMB}, Brandon, FL 33511). This works well for general business correspondence, vendor mail, customer communications, and more.
However, keep in mind that certain official and legal mail will still be sent to your registered agent's address on file with the state, not your SavvyNomad address. Examples include:
Lawsuits and service of process — courts and process servers send these directly to the registered agent address on record
Secretary of State notices — annual report reminders, compliance warnings, and notices of dissolution
State tax authority correspondence tied to your entity registration
Franchise tax notices and assessments
If you're expecting any of this type of mail, make sure your registered agent is aware and has a way to forward it to you promptly.
How do I add my business to my SavvyNomad address?
To receive business mail at your SavvyNomad address, complete a USPS 1583 Form that includes your business. If you haven't yet completed a 1583 for your business, you can follow these instructions to do so. You can manage your documents on your Documents tab.
