Contact timeline: activity log and internal notes

Every contact in your Studio has a timeline on their detail page that captures key events automatically and lets your team add internal notes. Use it to keep track of what's happened with a contact and to leave context for your team.

Activity log

The activity log records milestones as they happen, like:

  • When a contact was invited to a studio

  • When a submission was approved (and by whom)

  • When a submission was rejected and a retake was requested (including the reason given)

  • Other key events in the contact's flow

To view the activity log, go to the Contacts page, click a contact's name, and find the Timeline section on their detail page. Events appear in chronological order, most recent at the top.

Note: Events from before this feature was released aren't shown in the timeline -- only events going forward will appear. This is an expected technical limitation.

Internal notes

Alongside the automatic event log, you and other admins on your account can add internal notes to a contact's timeline. Notes are useful for capturing context that isn't covered by system events -- follow-up reminders, special handling instructions, or anything else relevant to your team's workflow.

To add a note, open the contact's detail page, scroll to the Timeline section, type your note, and submit. Notes appear alongside system events in the timeline, marked with the name of the admin who added them.
