Step 1: Check the power and basic settings
Power supply: Check that the power adapter is properly connected to the outlet and the diffuser.
Ambient light: Is the orange light on? This light should turn on by default as soon as the device gets power.
Switch position: Check that the device isn't accidentally set to "OFF" via the physical button on the diffuser.
Step 2: Check your schedule in the app
The diffuser only works at the times in your schedule.
Is it a working period? Open your diffuser in the Scentech app and look at the day bar: if the marker for now falls within a black block, it should be spraying now. Is it set to Off? Then tap the on/off switch.
Is it a working day? Look at the day bars to see whether today has a block. See Setting up a schedule.
Step 3: Check the hardware and setup
Position: Make sure the machine is always standing vertically. If the device has been lying flat, this can disrupt its operation.
Oil level: Check that there's enough essential oil in the 120ml bottle.
Bottle attachment: Check that the bottle is screwed firmly into the misting head.
Tube: Pull the diffuser head up and check that the white tube is still properly attached and hasn't come loose.
Step 4: The manual test (without the app)
To rule out the schedule as the cause, we'll run a manual test on the device itself. First close the Scentech app: as long as a phone is connected, the buttons on the diffuser won't respond.
Repeatedly press the Grade button briefly until the diffuser is set to G3 (the highest setting).
Set the timer function using the button until the level 1H (1 hour) is selected.
Wait a few minutes to see if misting starts.
Still not working?
