How to Create a Booking in ScheduleDrop (Step-by-Step)

Two ways to start—both take you to the exact same powerhouse form. Most pros live in the left sidebar button.

Written by Sam Arnold

This article walks through how to create a booking in your ScheduleDrop account, including selecting a customer, filling out service details, applying discounts and fees, and choosing a payment method.

Where to Start

There are two ways to start creating a booking:

  • Click Quick ToolsCreate a Booking, or

  • Click the Create Booking button on the left-hand side menu.

Selecting a Form

At the top of the booking screen, you can choose which form to use (for example, a commercial form or another custom form in your account). This article uses the default cleaning booking form as an example. Your form may look different depending on your industry.

Choosing the Customer

You'll see two tabs at the top of the booking form:

  • New Customer — fill out customer information manually.

  • Existing Customer — search for a customer who has received a quote or booking from you in the past.

For a New Customer

Fill out the following fields:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email (required)

  • Phone Number

Tip: If a customer doesn't have an email, you can use a placeholder — but make sure it's unique for each customer. A good format is firstname.lastname@gmail.com so no two customer profiles share the same email.

Filling Out Service Type

This section depends on your form. For a cleaning form, you'll see fields like:

  • Bedrooms

  • Bathrooms

  • Square footage

  • Pet home

  • Outdoor structures

  • Attached garage

Fields with a star (★) are required. As you fill out the form, the estimated duration and price automatically update on the right side in the Payment Summary.

Extras

If your form includes extras, you can add them here. Whether extras appear depends on how your form is built and whether you offer them to clients.

Service Details

This section is shared across all forms.

  1. Date — select the booking date.

  2. Time — set the booking time.

  3. Frequency — choose one-time, weekly, bi-weekly, every four weeks, or monthly. Selecting a recurring frequency automatically creates recurring bookings for the customer.

  4. Duration — your form may preload a duration, but you can always adjust it manually.

Assigning a Provider

You can assign a provider when saving the booking or after the booking is saved.

Address Information

Start typing the customer's address — the field is connected to Google and will suggest matches as you type. Select the correct address from the list.

Notes

Booking Notes (Bottom of Form)

Visible to the customer. Use these for any details the customer should see.

Provider Notes (Right Side)

Visible only to the assigned provider.

Private Customer Note

Available after the booking is saved. Visible only to you.

Tip: Click the information icon (ℹ️) next to each note field to see who can view that note.

Customer Notifications

On the right side of the form, you'll find the Customer Notifications section. Use the toggle switches to turn email and text notifications off before saving if you don't want the customer to receive them.

Additional Fees

If you have additional fees set up in your account, they'll appear here. Sales tax is applied by default. You can apply or remove other fees (like a processing fee) depending on whether you want to charge them for this booking.

Payment Information

Discount Code

If you've created a discount code, you can apply it here.

Payment Method

Choose how the customer will pay:

  • Credit Card — enter the card number in the Add Card box below (debit cards work too).

  • Cash or Check — use this if you're collecting payment externally, or if you plan to send the customer an Add Card Link after saving.

Override Price

If you need to change the auto-calculated price (for example, the customer negotiated a different rate), enter the new amount in the Override Price box. The subtotal will update to match.

Saving the Booking

Once everything is filled out, click Create Booking. The booking will appear on your schedule with all the details you entered.
