In this guide you'll learn about working with Match Reports, how to use them, control the report data you'll able to enter, as well as how to modify and create your own statistics on a comprehensive team level.

Activate Match Recording

Start your scouting report using TAP TO START MATCH RECORDING. This way you'll able to record a complete timeline of the player's action and evaluations. You can also change the time by manual input.

Rate a player

Scoutpad uses unique player evaluation indicators with everything you need to rate players in every aspect that matters. We have over 30 traits and skills that are organized into 3 main categories: ON THE BALL, OFF THE BALL and PHYSIS. Read here more about how to customize the shortcuts and position-specific indicators shown on the report page.

Below is the evaluation bubble that pops up when you click on a player. The four fast selection attributes you see are selected as defaults. All other indicators are listed under MORE.

Clicking on a shortcut opens a scale from ++ to --. Tap on the rating you want to add and the perfomance evaluation is automatically saved and added to the HISTORY tab on the left.

Use match events and notes

You can record relevant event data with less effort. For example, you can collect details for goals, assists or yellow (red) cards and make it easy to automatically sync the match result.

  1. Open the player evaluation bubble and click on NOTES.

  2. Tap on GOAL. Thereupon a small icon is added to the player bubble and the match result at the top is automatically updated.

Using the space beneath the event buttons, you can write (or dictate) a note about the player and add any tag you want to help you stay organized and find your note efficiently afterwards. For team notes use the separate bar on the left side.

The notes of your scouting reports are putting all together and are synchronized with the player detail pages on your player list.

Substitute a player

From your substitution players you can choose who you want to enter the match and drag it to the one you want him to substitute. The substituted players will have an icon assigned to them. (Substitutions are generally limited to five, but in friendly games, there are no restrictions.)

Delete ratings or events

Each rating, event or comment that is already included in the report is listed in the left pane at HISTORY. You can delete an item from the report by following the steps below:

  1. Tap on EDIT EVENTS.

  2. Click on the red minus button.

  3. The item then will be no longer counted for the statistics.

Create a snapshot

You can still move players around on the pitch according to your preferences during a match. Use CREATE SNAPSHOT to record a certain situation or any offensive/defensive tactical performance of teams and players.

Scoutpad creates a snapshot of the current line-up, which you then can edit separately. How do teams shift when they counterattack? Does the team change formation when they are defending a lead? Snapshots help you record the different tactics teams use based on how the match is going. Tapping on LINEUP you'll go back to the default line-up.

You can create up to 4 different snapshots, each will be displayed later in the pdf.

Add final match rating

The pdf-preview facility provides you the option to revise your report and to modify or add notes. It gives a short overview of all tagged match events, player profiles and rated attributes. The stats in the pdf are an average value of each rated attribute.

CATEGORY: The star icon next to the player image opens a dropdown that allows you to add the player to your favorite list with a category that ranges from NOTABLE to IMMEDIATELY. The four items to categorize players are:

  • Notable: Player that is interesting to look at and worthy of note

  • Perspective: Player who is targeted for a closer scrutiny

  • Focus: Player considered for immediate transfer but needs final evaluation

  • Immediately: Player that is recommended for an immediate transfer

ADD MATCH RATING: Add a final rating for the player in terms on how he has performend this match. All player's single match ratings added in the different reports are summarized as an averaged Overall Rating on the player detail page.

COMPLETE REPORT: Tap this to synchronize your statistics and events of this report with the player detail page. Otherwise, the report's data will not be added to the player profiles.

GO TO MATCH: Select this button to open the match report and re-work on it.

EXPORT: This button exports the match report as shareable PDF-file.
