Quiz by Answer lets you mix question types (text, images, video) with answer formats like multiple choice, text input, or ratings—ideal for everything from quizzes to surveys.

When you have created the campaign and you enter the specific campaign flow, then you enter the specific page with the game.

Go to ‘Game’, where you access the game itself, and click the green button to enter the Quiz Manager. Click ‘Edit Game’ to enter the game’s settings.

Quiz Manager

There is some game settings in the bottom on the page - that enables the following:

  • Option to go back to previous questions

  • Option to display text after an answer

  • Option to show whether an answer is correct or incorrect after the last answer

Questions - how do I set it up?

  • Create your questions via ‘Edit Quiz’ – click ‘New Questions’, add a description, and give it a name.

  • Choose the answer format (text, text form, image, or rating from the dropdown).

  • You can add an image or video between the question and the answers by clicking ‘Question Settings’.

  • For each question, you define whether an answer is correct or incorrect. You can also add an internal name for data tracking (used in exports/integrations).

Advanced Settings

  • Enable ‘Allow multiple answers’ under Question Settings.

Result Pages

You can set up a single result page for all questions. Define the correct answers, e.g., for 3 questions, the scoring range would be 0–3. If you want different result pages depending on performance, e.g., 0–1 correct = Result Page A, then you can create multiple result pages accordingly.

You can add an image or video between the question and the answers via ‘Question Settings’.

You can display the number of correct answers using this tag: {GAME_CORRECT_ANSWERS}.

Add a call-to-action button (CTA) linking to another page or URL.

FYI: There is a feature called ‘Custom Page’ that allows you to redirect a user to another game, for example as a reward if they score 5 out of 5 – this is an optional feature.

Styling

You can edit the styling under ‘Questions’ and/or ‘Results’ to access individual question or result pages.

Under ‘Content’, questions, answers, and results can be styled consistently — including font size, color, text font, spacing, etc. These styling settings apply across all related sections.

Same options are available for ‘Result Pages’.

The ‘Button’ section under Style allows you to apply consistent styling to all buttons.

The Progress Bar can be turned on or off — it adjusts automatically based on the number of questions.

FYI: For mobile version styling, select the section, go to ‘Content’ > ‘Settings’, then choose ‘Custom’ to adjust question width.

Prizes (Winning Options)

There are two main prize setups, both configured under ‘Game Settings’:

See more information about pricing setup here: Creating a Prize in Scratcher and Email Setup.

You can choose:

  1. Random draw – a winner is selected at the end of the campaign.

  2. Instant-win – disables result pages. Instead, users are shown prize pages immediately, depending on whether they’ve won or not.

FYI: You can access the preview and live URL for testing. Remember to clear test data. You can also set participation frequency limits.

Game Data

You get an overview of participants and game data, showing detailed results for each question.

This includes what users answered, answer distribution (percentages), and the result page they landed on (if there are multiple).

When exporting or sending data, both the questions and answers from the quiz are included:

FYI: If you need a different setup, you can change the game type under ‘Change Game Type’ and see the different ones here: Which Quiz Format Is Right for You?
